‘We can’t scoff at their rules,’ he said of federal authorities. ‘It’s a part of the operational guidelines.’

Institutionalized thinking.

1}Your not part of the operation, your a beneficiary of it.

2}You should know your religious rights enumerated in the Constituion

3}Exercise your religious rights, and if they try to stop you, sue under Title 18 section 242 - Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.

-----

Your not a 'subject' of the government, so STOP acting like one!

They should demand foot washing stations, and see what happens.

The Constitution says freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion!

Hear! Hear!

and why is the government forcing us to practice their brand of theism? yeah, that's right, atheism is a religion: a belief concerning a supreme being, that there isn't one. It is one end of a broad spectrum of religion and needs to be treated as such. That will nip it. nip it in the bud.

So some staff from Seniors Inc. ratted on the old folks’ prayers. Wonder if there are any SEIU ties?

This will impact senior and other programs nationwide. I hope they can beat this in court, but where will the money come to represent the pray-er’s side?

How shameful.

“Can food stamp recipients still pray at home?”
Or social security recipients?
Or veterans in the VA hospital?

Freedom OR religion.... Especially if you pray to the God of Abraham or Jesus, Mo excluded.

Hear, hear!

Every truly devout man knows that freedom is found, not in religion, but in relationship with Almighty God. To utter prayers in the name of Jesus to a YHVH with whom one has no fellowship is evidence of a life of psychological compulsion that must be truly miserable.

By stark contrast, as Messiah himself said, "Whom The Son sets free is free, indeed."

You can bet your lunch on that.

They can’t stop them, really. What are they going to do restrain each one that folds their hands in prayer before a meal? That is exactly what I would do, and make it in their face too.

2. Cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion

That part is ALWAYS ignored in every news story...

You are exactly right.

I know I will fight them tooth and nail on each and every “takeover” they try.

Is this the USSR?

I’ve been thinking all day that this country is FUBAR under the Obama Administration. It is a nightmare.

OK, guess I’ve turned into a prude, but a guy who sponsors a gender neutral bathroom bill makes me pause.

Hmm. Once the food changes hands in exchange for the $.55, so does the ownership and all rights thereto. The seniors can do whatever they please over that food because after the transaction is complete, and they own it. The government subsidy no longer means that the government owns it at that point. The government does not subsidize the seniors, but rather the “Center” which is providing the food. So, if effect, the employees of the “Center” are the ones who are bound by this “rule”. This would be a piece of cake in court.

Actually, liberals are establishing Atheism as the official religion of the US government.
