Slavery Reparations: A Dead Issue, and Well-Deserved
Pajamas Media ^ | May 11 | Clayton Cramer

When whites say that slavery reparations is a dead issue, that’s not news. When conservative blacks say it, it isn’t news. But when Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. says it, you can put a fork in it.

There are a few black Americans whose ancestors were never held as slaves in this country. (One of them has a rather important job now — something involving government housing and ’round the clock protection.) Does President Obama deserve a reparations check?...

Many African Americans will say Skip Gates does not speak for them. He’s different. He likes white people unlike folks like Michael Dyson and his posse.

Does this mean I don’t get any reparations for my great-great grandfather risking his life for four years on Civil War battlefields to liberate the slaves, of whom he had never owned a single one? Dang, there goes my beer money.

BS.

Obamacare is reparations.

Community Reinvestment Act/TARP/Fannie-Freddie are reparations.

Cap-and-tax is reparations.

The reparations “movement” comes from a creepy sect of African-Americans with an unhealthy obsession with “whites.”

Reparations is a lot of liberal nonsense.

The freedom of black slaves was paid for, IN FULL, with the blood of the Union soldiers who fought and died to bring freedom to the slaves.

The mere thought that anything else is owed is highly offensive!

They've been paid. Here are the folks who wrote the check:

I have an African great-great grandmother and a great-great-great grandmother. Do I get a check?

Just how will they determine who gets a check? What’s “black”?

“Slavery Reparations: A Dead Issue, and Well-Deserved”

Ummmm. Not so dead. Not dead at all.

What about the ONGOING trillions of dollars of largely race-based, “redistribution” that has been going on since the 1960’s?

Bullcrap. We already paid five trillion in reparations. It was called "The Great Society." It didn't work.

My great uncle was held in Andersonville prison camp at the age of 16. He lived until 1927, but I doubt he received “reperations”, and I doubt that any black person thanked him.

“...Does President Obama deserve a reparations check?...”

Interesting question since he has no black roots on this continent. But the questioned triggered a recollection of an article in 07 or 08 that had no followup that I saw. The article had to do with the writer's research into Obama’s family history in Africa and that he comes out of a tribe of slavers - those who enslaved other Africans and sold them, mostly to Arabs. I have no idea if the story was valid, but it would be quite an eye-opener for the true Afro-Americans who love him so much, if true.

EVERY policy that 0bama has implemented has been
de facto reparations.

Look who pays and who gets.

Just heard someone recently going through the whole mortgage adjustment process -
"Wells Fargo has a high denial rate for your
demographic" - white Christian male with children.

Also:

At a press conference with minority journalists last fall, candidate Obama was pressed for more detail on his reparations position. He said he was more interested in taking action to help people who were just getting by. Because many of them are minorities, he said, that would help the same people who would benefit from reparations.

"If we have a program, for example, of universal health care, that will disproportionally affect people of color, because they are disproportionally uninsured," Obama said.

Reparations were paid in blood and lives on a thousand battlefields, from Fort Sumter to Palmito Ranch. One million one hundred thousand casulties. 1861-1865.

Exactly.

Americans paid “reparations” for slavery at Appamatox, Gettysburg, Shiloh, Antietem, Bull Run, etc.

Check out:

And those are just battle casualties for major engagements.

Bullcrap. We already paid five trillion in reparations. It was called "The Great Society." It didn't work.

And that's our fault, and the main reason why we have elected Obama to double that amount in one term. THEN we'll be getting close to starting proper Reparations payments.

(Do I need the tag?)

Sorry, but Barak Obama didn't like reparations because he felt "they didn't go far enough".

What he is doing now to this country is him doing reparations his way.
