If conservatives oppose amnesty Hispanics will punish them in November? The numbers say otherwise
The Collins Report ^ | May 12, 2010 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

In their attempt to scare Republicans into supporting amnesty for illegal aliens, the Democrat controlled media and the Democrat controlling SEIU have declared, “Latino voters will be a force in the next election.” The implication is that the boogyman will “get” the GOP if Republicans don’t kowtow and go along with efforts to give illegal aliens amnesty and register them as new Democrat voters.

the numbers

As currently composed the Hispanic vote is actually negligible and only important in a limited number of locations.

Moreover, in a survey taken immediately after the 2008 election of the 85% of voters expressing an opinion on illegal aliens 59% wanted them sent home.

Hispanics are 15% of our population. The largest portion of Hispanics in America are children who can’t legally vote. Many Hispanics adults aren’t citizens so they can’t legally vote.

Only 9.5% of all American CITIZENS are Hispanics. ... group Hispanics lag behind others in actually voting.

Just 7.4% of those casting a vote in 2008 were Hispanic. Of this group 3 in 8 agreed that the way to deal with illegal aliens is to deport them. They are against handing illeagals of any race American citizenship as a reward for sneaking into our country.

When distilled down, the percentage of American voters who are Hispanic supporters of amnesty hovers around 5.5%.

These numbers strongly suggest that in the coming election just 4.7% of voters in 18 important battleground states will be Hispanics.

Non Hispanic Whites will be 81%, Blacks 12% and Asians 1%.

When the number of pro deportation Hispanics living in battleground states is factored in, a very negligible 3.1% of total voters going to the polls in 2010 will be pro amnesty.

Battleground State voters are 60% against amnesty with 64% of Whites and 40% of Blacks..

Americans regardless of their origins, want law and order....recent immigrants didn’t trade one lousy government for another....these Americans came in through the Front Door and insist all immigrants do the same. Headlines like this one are meant to misinform!

We see how well pandering worked for Greece.

Either America does the right thing or there will be no America.

Then what?

I would think it would be highly insulting to Hispanics twho are here legally to assume they favor illegal immigration. It would be like saying the Irish favor lax drunk driving laws, or that Italians don’t want a crack down on organized crime, or that Jews want to eliminate usury laws.

I don’t see why the first assumption about Hispanics and illegal immigration is any less offensive than the other three.

They have started to work the religion angle. The Catholic Church is pro Amnesty & most Protestant denominations are pushing for Amnesty. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez is the point man on the Evangelical side to get this through.

you cannot get numbers like 70% supporting the Arizona law in national polls unless there were a whole lot of Hispanics quietly supporting it.

Only 9.5% of all American CITIZENS are Hispanics. As a group Hispanics lag behind others in actually voting.

And those stats illustrate that all the demographic projections include the illegal Latino population in the US, and if immigration laws were enforced, those projections would have to be revised downward. Around 1/3 of Latinos in the US are apparently here illegally.

Just 7.4% of those casting a vote in 2008 were Hispanic.

When distilled down, the percentage of American voters who are Hispanic supporters of amnesty hovers around 5.5%.

The largest portion of Hispanics in America are children who can’t legally vote.

Which means we're screwed in the out-years.

The largest portion of Hispanics in America are children who can’t legally vote.

A fair number of those will also be here illegally. If we ever enforced our laws, many of those projections would not come about. - It's amazing that, according to these and other stats, as many as 1/3 of Latinos in the US could be here illegally, roughly 15 million of around 45 million.

I love it. Non-citizens dictating to citizens how to handle non-citizens. Imagine what they would demand if they were citizens.

The simple fact of the matter is: To champion amnesty for illegal aliens is like giving the finger to all of our legal immigrants.

It is not only disrespectful, it is flat out foolish.

Do these pro-illegal liberals ever learn from the MCain experience? Just as Jews vote Dem, hispanics vote Dem as well. Period.

I wish they would talk to the Hispanic couple just up the street from my house. They left CA because it was too liberal. She can spew a few four letter words when it comes to illegal immigrants.

Most of the Hispanics I work with also despise the illegal problem. Most vote for the R candidates in every election.

What a stupid threat. What? Do the Republicans actually think these illegal bastards were somehow about to vote for them?
