A radical cleric called Saturday for the creation of a "Greater Iran" that would rule over the entire Middle East and Central Asia, in an event that he said would herald the coming of Islam's expected messiah.

Ayatollah Mohammad Bagher Kharrazi said the creation of what he calls an Islamic United States is a central aim of the political party he leads called Hezbollah, or Party of God, and that he hoped to make it a reality if they win the next presidential election.

Besides Israel, he said the union would also destroy Shiite Iran's other regional adversaries, whom he called "cancerous tumors."

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that he expects the government which follows his to be "ten times more revolutionary."

Where have I heard that before... Greater Iran, Greater something, oh yes now I remember Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere and Greater Germany. We all know where that led.

I suggest Obama move there. He is much more comfortable among his friends. Maybe he could bring Kenya into the fold.

“Caliphate” is a Sunni term and Shia Muslims would never use it.

Anyway, the “greater Iran” talk has to scare the poop out of the Sunnis in the region. Notice how they are referred to here as cancerous tumors to be excised. Much more of this and the Gulf states will be paying Israel to wipe out the Tehran regime.

And they are not even trying to hide their intentions of making this happen by force:

“Besides Israel, he said the union would also destroy Shiite Iran’s other regional adversaries, whom he called “cancerous tumors.”

Once they have nukes, they can either hit some of the countries, probably the first one would be Israel, then blackmail everyone else — and the world, with witholding oil on one hand and threatening nukes on the other hand.

Thanks — I didn’t know that. But the idea is the same, whatever they call it.

Greater Islamic Co-prosperity Caliphate, ruled by a Caliph no doubt.

And so it begins.

The only problem with that counter-strike known as the Crusades, is that we didn’t win.

But the interesting thing though is we developed technologies and economies while they were still illiterate and riding camels. We, the industrialized “free” west.

And they are still globally illiterate and backwards.

Excepting they have bought our technologies for their 1400 year old aggression.

Growing like a spring rose, they need a good fertilizing.... a pool-pah.

Iran didn’t make much progress towards conquering Iraq after years of conventional fighting. That leaves nukes...are we looking at the start of Arabian Gulf cold war?

Iranian Regime Bans Sunni Public Prayers

The London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reports, citing Sunni sources in Tehran, that the Iranian regime decided yesterday to ban its Sunni citizens from holding public prayers at universities in Tehran and other cities, in military camps; the ban also applies to Friday prayers in private homes.

In response, senior Sunni cleric Sheikh Abdol Hamid Zehi appealed to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to complain about the repression of Sunnis’ freedom of worship in Iran.

Iran said to prepare for war
UNITS REDEPLOYED … COMMANDERS MOVED … MAY LINK TO N-WORK

KUWAIT CITY, May 5: Iran is allegedly preparing for a possible war in the region, considering the massive deployment of Iranian military men in the occupied areas — Ahwaz and Baluchistan, say highly reliable sources from the intelligence unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (Sazaman Talaat Wamnatit Sapah Pasdaran) in Ahwaz.
Sources disclosed the intelligence unit has informed the field military command of Ahwazi Islamic Sunni Organization on the alleged war preparations of Iran. Sources said the Iranian military deployment in Ahwaz and Baluchistan areas includes the core officers of the Revolutionary Guard, Ghafeera forces (Al-Baseej) clad in civilian clothes, thousands of agents and spies to finalize the preparations. Sources revealed some high-ranking officers, who were deemed unfaithful to the Iranian spiritual leadership inside the Revolutionary Guard and military, have been terminated, while others have been transferred to other locations to avoid any form of treason.

Read the detailed report. Probably a mixture of truth and disinformation, but who can say what is what?

Iran And The Hormuz Booby Trap
May 15, 2010: Within the past few weeks, Iran has conducted wargames simulating a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. During these exercises Iran showcased both its maneuvers and green water fleet. Iran is clearly trying to send a message showing the consequences of a military strike on its facilities. However, even if Iran does possess the ability to block the Strait of Hormuz, it would be useless. With Hormuz closed, Iran would choke itself.

Greater Iran? Why not GroßIranisch Reich, Yup, it only takes one lunatic and off we go again. I think at my age I’ll probably miss out on the action. So many more innocent people are going to die because of a few crazy men.
