Guests in a Bristol Township diner enthusiastically welcomed U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter during a rally on Saturday afternoon.
About 30 supporters were gathered at the Golden Eagle on Bath Road.
"During my tenure in the Senate, I've voted more often with Democrats. For years I tried to bring some moderation to the Republican Party. I support Democratic values," said Specter, 80.

Now if he really wants to win, he can bring GWB to campaign AGAIN for him in 2010! Or maybe Laura will do.

80! . For goodness sake, that alone ought to be a disqualifying point. I have nothing against 80, geez I can only hope I make it to 80 but please.

30 supporters? 80 years old?
No good reason judges, legislators,or elected officials should be able to hold office past the ages many are forced to retire in other fields.

Arlen, you traitorous dirt bag, just go away.
Retire, play with your grandchildren, go fishing, enjoy the rest of your feckless craven life.
It's going to be over before you know it and your maker is waiting for you.

I am hoping he wins on Tuesday. He will be a much easier opponent for Toomey than Sestak would be. Toomey would not only get the pro-Toomey votes but also the anti-Specter votes. Also, many on the left would just stay home. Sestak is even more liberal than Specter which might be hard to believe.

If by some odd chance Spectre could actually win, no doubt he’d chalk it up to the “magic ballot” theory.
