Organizing for America, the former grass-roots campaign arm for President Obamas 2008 campaign, is trying to rally supporters to phone bank and get out the vote in Pennsylvania for Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Penn., the former Republican locked in a tight primary race with a far more progressive Democrat, Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Penn.
Chris Bolling, the national volunteer coordinator for OFA, writes in an email that the stakes of this election are high: ensuring that allies of the President are elected in the House and Senate to fight for change. So starting this weekend, through Tuesday's election, there will be phone banks for OFA volunteers in D.C. We'll call into Pennsylvania and encourage voters to support leaders who will fight for President Obama's vision for change.

The list, ping
what is this grass roots crap
it is led by a couple of powerful rats who dictate on what to do , where to go and when to go
has a president like this one ever ran his campaign all through his presidency like this.
The man has not stopped campaigning nor has his goons from chicago.
I don’t really understand this. Sestak has voted right down the line for Obamas bills. You would think they would embrace him instead of an unpredictable Specter.
So, this is not about Democrats? It’s about faction?
I suspect when Sestak balked and then went public he sealed his fate.
You can be sure Specter has sold out 100% to Obama for this. Wheras the "progressive might not roll to the center on command from Obama. If Specter were to win after this, you will see that he has become Obama's most reliable vote.
OFA is not really a grassroots organization anymore. A lot of the true volunteers, like college students and minorities, have quietly discontinued their involvement. OFA is more like MoveOn.org, just another arm of the left.
Maybe there is something Machiavelian about this. Perhaps the Obama people know by publicly backing him he will go down to defeat like the other guys Obama has backed. Sestak will continue to tow the party line, have a better chance in November and they will have gotten rid of Specter who is a sure loser to Toomey.
CoC ... love it. It’s a keeper.
Obama is the head CoC.
This is a lose-lose for Obama. He is infuriating the left wing of his party with his support for Specter and he will infuriate the whole party when this seat goes to Toomey in the fall!
It’s like in IL, where political parties eat their own.
It’s a double-op drama. The commies will eat their own for real later.
I’m focused on the three felonies re: the bribe; which i’ve noticed Sestak’s gone mum on (Correct me if i’m wrong or if it’s for legal reasons).
