Look, there isn't any point in furthering this flame war. I said what I said and meant it. YOU did the same. End of discussion for me. So you and your tag team can throw whatever you want at me and you can think you won your point because I won't reply...that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy..and victorious.

Good bye now..

It's not a flame war. Once again, bizarro on the 'tag team' stuff.

You obviously will think what you want to think of me, undeterred by facts, but I've come to expect the personal animus (out of the blue) from a handful of people around here either with bad memories or overactive imaginations.

I'll never understand any of you, nor your anger.

Have a good evening, spectre. I'm certainly going to.

What's with the "tag team" stuff? Did you and I have any contact about this thread? Are we working as a "team?" LOL! I don't THINK so!

Certain people post to me and I reply. I think it's called "dialogue." :)

“I’ll give her credit—she had me fooled. And she was quiet and classy enough as a first-lady that I never imagined she was not worthy of the respect I was giving her.”

Well I for one am GLAD she is showing her true colors. I only wish I had known about it before.

I meant to respond earlier to the "Texas" thing, rangerette.

One of the most interesting things in Laura's book was the description of, and history of Texas (and her obvious love for it). I learned much about your great state that I hadn't known before.

She also included much about the history of other countries, such as Afghanistan which added to the quality of this very intelligent book.

excellant post....

Laura is MORE conservative than liberal...conservative in the tradition of responsibility for self, freedom for all individuals, compassion yet encouraging progress, not victimhood, great pride in her country, strong faith and sense of family. she is ( and was as a First lady )GREAT!

She is a strong woman and more mature than many so called “True conservatives”.

And she has a valid point about not overturning Rv Wade..that it would bring back back-alley illegal abortions.

And as of yet...no pro-life position/idea has brought forth an answer to that, nor to the answer of the hypocrisy of only criminalizing the doctor, not the other participants (ie the woman and her partner ). Making abortions illegal does not diminish the number of abortions...and yes, I have researched the stats. Abortions decrease when alternatives are available for women.

So laura Bush thinks all these things through, and that does not make her NOT pro-life.

I’m a woman. I believe a woman should have the opportunity to hold certain positions if qualified and standards don’t have to be lowered. It would be fine if a qualified woman was appointed. Instead we keep having women nominated for their sex and maybe race or sexuality. I find it insulting. It’s sexist it’s own way. Too bad Laura doesn’t appear to have the ability to understand that.

Very well stated!

This is a forum dedicated to politics. Conservative politics! Why don’t you take your mindless idol worshipping someplace else? It seems that you don’t belong here.

Why don't you take your nasty self and shove it where the sun don't shine. Who the hell are you to be telling anyone to leave this forum!

I remember during the first few years of Bush’s presidency, Laura was interviewed by — I think it was Larry King — and he asked her about Bush being a born again Christian and she said “I wouldn’t say that.” I always thought that was such an odd thing to say. I knew then that something wasn’t right about her.

I believe she was simply telling the truth.

From the Republican Presidential Candidates Debate in Des Moines, Iowa on 12/13/1999:

BACHMAN: Governor Bush — a philosopher-thinker and why.

BUSH: Christ, because he changed my heart.

BACHMAN: I think the viewer would like to know more on how he's changed your heart.

BUSH: Well, if they don't know, it's going to be hard to explain. When you turn your heart and your life over to Christ, when you accept Christ as the savior, it changes your heart. It changes your life. And that's what happened to me.

I've always found it telling that he didn't say the name of Jesus, simply Christ. I remember wondering why and thinking he wanted to appeal to the Christian Right by responding in that way but also wanted not to "offend" undecided voters.

Why don’t you read YOUR nasty post and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I’m a conservative on a conservative forum who’s sick and damned tired of crap from RINO Bush-bots like you! That’s who in the hell I am.

Do you think GWB used “turn the other cheek” as a ploy, or to mock, maybe both?

I think that GW Bush was just abyssmally disinterested in responding to the attacks & lies & smears against him, by the media or the socialist demoRAT pigs. Even with 0bozo the commie pig, lying & attacking & smearing GW Bush for the last 3 years now, GW Bush has yet to open his mouth & respond to ANY demoRAT or media lie. The only time that GW Bush attacked anyone was when he dissed & attacked conservatives for opposing amnesty, or opposing the North American Union, or opposing Harriet Meiers.

But for demoRATs & the media to attack him relentlessly and then to end up defining GW Bush and the Republican Party by default, and thereby creating the environment for the demoRATs to demolish Republicans in 2006 & 2008, is unforgiveable on GW Bush's part. He is a globalist, who believes in socialist values & principles and I believe that he is 98% in agreement with 0bozo the commie pig. His wife Laura & 2 kids are without a doubt in full support of 0bozo the commie pig.
