'Humiliation and intimidation' of Palestinians behind decision to scrap Caesarea concerts, British singer says.

British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello this week became the latest in a list of stars to cancel performances in Israel as a political protest.

Costello, who was due to play two shows in Caesarea on June 30 and 31, posted a message on his website in which he announced that he would scrap the concerts in protest at what he termed the intimidation and humiliation of Palestinians by Israel.

How bout starting a boycott of Elvis and his lovely and much more talented wife (Diana Krall) on Itunes? Make them pay for being evil and stupid.

Declan McManus is a schmuck, who hasn’t recorded anything worth listening to in 30 years.

I could never figure out Johnny Cash’s politics. He was always anti-war, no matter who the president was. But he never publicly denounced any politician as far as I know. He was friends with Clinton AND GWB. He insisted in his backstage riders that an American flag MUST be on stage with him. My guess is he was a conservative democrat. Can’t imagine him giving concerts for pro-abortion causes, like his daughter Roseanne Cash.

I wonder why it is that 99% of entertainers are jackasses?

He's really just upset at the Jews because he could never make it big in accounting. No talent croak-voiced loser.

His favorite president was Richard Nixon.

And while Johnny may have opposed wars, from what I gather he did a USO tour of Vietnam.

Cash was definitely a patriot. Maybe that’s why I liked him so much.

Yep, WS Holland (Johnny Cash’s drummer of 40 years from the 1950s-1990s) still does the spoken word piece about the flag in concert.

I sat next across the aisle from Elvis Costello at a Tom Waits concert in NYC. He sat next to Joe Strummer. And Keith Richards was in the row in front of us.

Those were good seats!
