The Rush Limbaugh Victory

THERE are many theories for why very conservative Republicans seem to be doing so well lately, taking their party’s Senate nominations in Florida, Kentucky and Utah, and beating Democrats head-to-head in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Some attribute this to a generalized anti-incumbent mood. Others say it reflects the tendency of parties in power to falter in midterm elections. Recently it has been fashionable to ascribe right-wing success to the Tea Party movement.

But the most obvious explanation is the one that’s been conspicuously absent from the gusher of analysis. Republican success in 2010 can be boiled down to two words: Rush Limbaugh.

He doesn’t go as far right as everyone would like.

I agree but at the same time that's a good thing. If he were considered too far right (lefty term) - I doubt many of his converts would have taken him seriously. He's a good teacher.

In office we could count on him to do the will of the people - pro America. He's not a people pleaser and this would not be a career for him.

The bad news is that without a Rush running for office, we'll never know what it would be like to have an "aggressive" conservative (vs. a "happy conservative" like Reagan

And that's just what we need now - aggressive. This country has taken a quick fall in so many areas and needs aggressive to bring it back.

In BO I see an utter incompetent who has brought the entirety of post-WWII liberalism to the chopping block. See my tagline.

Hillary’s policies would have been just as malignant, but executed with more skill, subtlety, persuasion, permanence and lethality.

Thus I stated and maintain that the election of Hillary would have been worse than the election of BO. Ambivalent about the Great White Quisling, a/k/a “The Maverick” McCain.

YMMV.
