Obama: GOP backed down on Wall Street (O talking smack now that Scott Brown folded like wet suit)

Republicans were forced to "back down" from blocking Wall Street reform, according to a fundraising letter sent by the president.

In the e-mail to his supporters, President Barack Obama wrote that pressure on lawmakers forced Republicans to "back down" from blocking the legislation, which the Senate passed Thursday.

"This movement proved again that the strongest special interests, who for so long have called the shots in Washington, can be beat," he wrote. "When opponents in Congress tried to block the legislation altogether, you stood up -- and they backed down. When the lobbyists pushed for loopholes and exemptions just before a final vote, you did not relent -- and we fought them off."

Heading into the midterm elections, Democrats are looking to capitalize on momentum following the passage of the bill imposing new regulations on the financial services industry.

Several Republicans helped Democrats pass the bill.

You’re not making any sense.

No, you’re not making any sense. You singled out Scott Brown in your title addendum and in your remarks. Then you ranted about “ALL YOU MORONS PUSHING “RINOS THAT CAN WIN”.” I don’t recall much discussion around here about that Senate race during the primary season. Was Martha Coakley the conservative you want all the morons to back? If not then what the hell are you talking about?

You’re confused. My rant is simple, plainspoken. It means exactly what it says.

If there are “voices” and ghosts of Coakley haunting anyone, it’s you.

Sure. Makes sense. Perfectly understandable. Fits like a glove. Even a caveman could see it.

Well, If the liberal Bill Weld’s, Romney’s and Browns are the best they can offer, they can keep em

Again, you're in wishful thinking land.

The choice wasn't between Brown and some great conservative, it was between Brown and Coakley. Brown was a better choice, whether you want to acknowledge this reality or not.

Let’s be honest here. Scott Brown is no prize. He is showing his RINO colors in spades, as I knew and predicted he would. Oh, but he drives a truck! Well big effing deal! Since when did that act become a conservative qualification?

Always look beyond the hype. I needed only one visit to Brown’s website and to read his equivocations on EVERY issue. That fact alone screamed RINO POS. There were many so-called Republicans on Face Book that were pushing Brown ad nausea... However, I knew better. I would not give that RINO ass clown two cents.

I can not stress the point strongly enough: Politically speaking, nothing good ever comes out of Massachusetts. NOTHING.

The state is a hopeless cesspool of political hacks, cultural reprobates and hard-core Marxists. Moreover, the MA-GOP is a caricature, a standing joke, and more of a political token than anything worth national interest. The terms “lost cause” or “ball and chain” best describe the party and the piece of geography they claim as their own.

> I somehow missed the expletives you are talking about.

How about the 4th word in your post:

> TO ALL YOU MORONS PUSHING “RINOS THAT CAN WIN” — THIS IS WHAT RINOS DO TO US. THEY STAB YOU IN THE DAMN BACK AND HELP DEMS PASS THIS KIND OF GARBAGE!!!!!

> I’d rather see 30 conservatives who are willing to fight

I did not notice any conservatives actually fighting against this bill. And, if you are down to 30 conservatives you can fight all you want and you will lose every time.

Yes, yes, of course. And Charlie Crist was deserving of the NRSC’s immediate endorsement too

“Next time around, a more conservative senator can run and possibly even win, something that wouldn’t happen going from an ultra-lib cold.”

If you actually believe that, then I have a bridge in Chappaquiddick I’d like to sell you! I am originally from Massachusetts, and trust me on this point: Hell will freeze over before the dimwits in Mass ever elect a genuine conservative. Bet on it.

Morons is an expletive? Good thing I didn’t use Retards, you might have called the PC police.

> This was a learning experience next time take a good look at their past.

Right. So next time you can just vote for Coakley and put a reliable Democrat in the Senate.

The problems is not squishy Republicans - they always will be around. The problems is Congressional leadership not willing to hold members’ feet to the fire. Look at Democratic minorities of the early Bush administration and how they forced members to hang together. What Republicans need are Party leaders who can and will act like Democrats in holding together Party unity.

As far as I am concerned, you are free to use any language you want. However, do keep in mind that unnecessary profanity detracts from your message.

If you say so. Presumably you also believe that Martha Coakley would have been a better choice for Senator. Possibly, I am violating my own rules, but the word “deranged” does come to mind.

"Presumably you also believe that Martha Coakley would have been a better...."

That's the standard line I've heard for decades. Arlen is better than..., Arnold is better than ...., Linc is better than....

Silly. If I told you ANY Republican would take over the seat Kennedy once held, you'd have made a similar one, right?

I mean, that's as crazy as saying Ronald Reagan could take Massachusetts--you could have sold me a bridge in Chappaquiddick before THAT happened, too, right?

It is not a “standard” it is a fact. There was a choice between Coakley and Brown. There was no mythical “true conservative” on the ticket.

Think for a minute. This is “Ted Kennedy’s seat.” Of course Brown is a RINO. What did you expect. But would you rather have a known Mass RINO or another Masshole socialist who keeps Harry Reid as majority leader. Jeez, think for a minute.

Brown did not fold. We knew he was a RINO. Jeez.

And all these statements are eminently true, and your flouting of them is quite irrelevant.
