Marcus Baram reads the new Limbaugh biography: Army of One -
"At the time of the book's writing this spring, Limbaugh's frontrunner for his support in the 2012 presidential race was Sarah Palin, whom he calls "the most prominent, articulate voice for standard, run-of-the-mill, good old-fashioned conservatism." A surprising second choice so far is Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, whom Limbaugh praised as a choice for the vice presidential nomination in 2008.
But it definitely won't be Mike Huckabee (Limbaugh considers him "an irresponsible populist") or Newt Gingrich (who has "gone soft" in Rush's opinion) or once-favored Bobby Jindal (he has stopped referring to him as "the next Ronald Reagan" and scarcely mentions him at all).
Some of Limbaugh's ranting about President Obama's "socialism" comes from his own fear that all of his wealth will be taken away from him. The day after the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2009, when comedian-in-residence Wanda Sykes joked that she hopes Limbaugh's kidneys fail, Limbaugh emailed Chafets:
"I know I am a target and I know I will be destroyed eventually. I fear that all I have accomplished and all the wealth I have accumulated will be taken from me, to the cheers of the crowd. I know I am hated and despised by the American Left."
I wonder if he said anything about Mitt?
Hunter/DeMint 2012. Pawlenty? This guy ain’t much of a biographer.
Sad when a man’s biggest fear is losing his money. I guess it’s because he has no family.
VERY interesting! I still like Jindel pretty well, though he’s said a few things I haven’t cared for. I do hope Rush sees Mitt for who he is. Barely even a RINO, and I say that after having lived in MA under his governorship.
Why do you not like Sarah Palin?
I’ll admit my favor of Huckabee in the last election, I’m neutral on Romney, but I disagree on Palin.
I see her as being popular (in a general sense), but not popular as a choice as President.
I don’t know much about Pawlenty. What I’ve seen seems decent enough, but for me (somebody like) Paul Ryan is the way forward. We need someone who is plain-spoken and who can cut through the B-S with a knife on the campaign and in debates.
Obama’s brand of fluff should never have worked in population that’s awake and aware.
I’mj ust glad that Newt won’t get any backing from Rush....meaning that according to polls Newt draws votes from Mitt.....If Mitt is damaged by Newt being in the run then I’m all for Newt at least running!!! HEHE
Who is the man you’re referring to?
I like her just fine. Just not as CIC.
((((((((Ping)))))))
I was referring to Rush, in response to the quote about being a target of the American left.
Who is your choice for POTUS ?
Wow. This IS interesting!
Folks, I really do not care about 2012. It’s this coming November, 2010 we need to work our tails off to defeat and destroy the Democrat Party. Kill them this November at the polls and you won’t have Barack Hussein Obama to worry about in 2012. In fact, the way Obama is going these days, his own political party will throw him under the bus.
I mean...Rush always favored Palin.....he raved about her all the time, but i’m suprised about Pawlenty, but then again Tim is a good guy,not a destroy the dems conservative (not charismatic either) but a solid guy.
Got that right, pissant.
Now that Rush has put in a good word for Pawlenty, FReepers will all be falling all over themselves to support him.
Which is fine with me, because I have always been impressed with Tim Pawlenty. Now all the Dittoheads will also be supporting him, and that’s good news.
