Exclusive: FBI details surge in death threats against lawmakers

I voted for you,” the caller said in a voice mail to Democratic Rep. Heath Shuler’s district office. “If you vote for that stimulus package, I’m gonna kill you. Simple as that.”

The FBI says the caller was a 70-year-old resident of Shuler’s North Carolina district with a history of mental illness and a cache of guns. In the weeks before calling Shuler’s office, the FBI says, the caller beat and choked his wife. She told the FBI that she’d tried to clear her home of guns — and that she went to bed at night with a can of mace tucked under her pillow.

You know why cops hate DV calls. This would be the same thing.

Guns! Guns? We don’t need no stinkin’ guns!

How many of you thought, “Hope he kicks before the Dems can change the rules again.” the week before Kennedy died after reading the news story posted below? All we true conservatives need do is focus our laser like mind powers on the right leftist target and he/she is toast.

From the past:

Senator Ted Kennedy, who is gravely ill with brain cancer, has sent a letter to Massachusetts lawmakers requesting a change in the state law that determines how his Senate seat would be filled if it became vacant before his eighth full term ends in 2012. Current law mandates that a special election be held at least 145 days after the seat becomes available. Mr. Kennedy is concerned that such a delay could leave his fellow Democrats in the Senate one vote short of a filibuster-proof majority for months while a special election takes place.

“I therefore am writing to urge you to work together to amend the law through the normal legislative process to provide for a temporary gubernatorial appointment until the special election occurs,” writes the Senator.

What Mr. Kennedy doesn’t volunteer is that he orchestrated the 2004 succession law revision that now requires a special election, and for similarly partisan reasons. John Kerry, the other Senator from the state, was running for President in 2004, and Mr. Kennedy wanted the law changed so the Republican Governor at the time, Mitt Romney, could not name Mr. Kerry’s replacement. “Prodded by a personal appeal from Senator Edward M. Kennedy,” reported the Boston Globe in 2004, “Democratic legislative leaders have agreed to take up a stalled bill creating a special election process to replace U.S. Senator John F. Kerry if he wins the presidency.” Now that the state has a Democratic Governor, Mr. Kennedy wants to revert to gubernatorial appointments.

Exactly. Anyone who is 70 and still hasn't figured out that the 'Rats are...well...rats, then they are very slow indeed.

With any luck he’ll be accidentally invited to the White House.

The story has also the story of one Republican, Paul Ryan, who was threatened with death right to his face at a stoplight.
Why publicize this?
The FBI works better under secrecy. They shouldn’t be writing or, shall I say, planting stories like these. Because I do think it’s a planted story.

How much did the democrats pay these people to pretend to call the lawmakers or maybe they made it up?

Well, this is what you get when you ignore the will of the people. Not that I condone violence or threats but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you muck with people like our current crop of tyrants have, you’re gonna have people wanting your heads on a platter.

Let’s see. You can’t vote if you’re in jail. So if you can arrest all your political enemies you ensure your reelection.

Typical Obama voter.

A stake-owning zombie calls Dracula and threatens him harm, and I'm supposed to care?

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

forget mace

if you're really serious about stopping an attacked, get wasp repellent... good for 20 feet and will seriously mess up any assailant (who cares if it does permanent damage... that's the point)

This Politico piece points out specifically the case in which Rep. Stabenow (D-MI) was threatened by a man upset that the Fairness Doctrine might be re-established (or re-instanted... whatever!), and other cases include violence & death threats against Republican lawmakers, such such as a death threat against Rep. Ryan (R-WI) and his daughter by anti-Iraq war protestors circling them in a black SUV around the streets of Milwaukee. The beginning paragraph of said article points out that a man suffering from mental illness, who happens to be a Democrat, threatened Rep. Shuler (D-NC).

Speaking of the Fairness Doctrine: Why has no one even noticed that the best war journalist of our time has been kicked out of Afghanistan and the media could care less about this? Nobody in the media seems to care that Michael Yon has been removed from the front lines by Obama/General McChrystal and sent to Thailand. Yon has openly stated the problems in Afghanistan right now and how we could lose this war, unless changes are made. He has been critical of the current rules of engagement. Imagine if the current administration threw Helen Thomas out of a WH press conference, or removed Jake Tapper from the WH lawn. There would be a media outrage!
