Sen. Chris Dodd Blames Bush For Oil Spill
RealClearPolitics ^ | May 25, 2010 | RealClearPolitics

When asked by Don Imus on his morning program if the Obama was to blame for lack of response to the oil spill, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) blamed the Bush administration. "Well, you know, they come into office a year ago with all of this. And so, after the last eight years," he said.

At that point, Imus interrupted and asked if he has "lost" his mind for blaming Bush. "The President has been in office for a year and a half and they've been dragging their feet and even people like James Carville said that his behavior 'has been at the very best lackadaisical and naive' and you're still going to try to blame Bush?" he said.

To lay this at Obama's doorstep, in light of years and years of regulatory permissiveness when it comes to these kinds of operations occurring -- it didn't occur in the last year and a half," he said. "I mean, you know that as well as I do. You can't lay this all at Obama's door anymore than I can say," Dodd responded.

OH NO! What happened to those two? Did George Bush appear in a puff of smoke, tie them up and beat them? Oh that villain!

Well hey you know the media wouldn’t have let anyone know anyway! So why do people persist in claiming he never defended himself? A number of times that I remember him telling people why he did/didn’t do something, and the only people interested in reporting it were the few in the media who were sympathetic to him! Most the media was apathetic, if not hostile!

How did you expect most people to hear anything he had to say on his behalf, unless they watched/listened those few sources? Then if he had done it more, he would’ve looked like a cry-baby (like someone we all know). Then he would’ve looked weak! Also, would anyone expect him to get anything done if he was always sitting around, trying to defend himself?

Speaking of accepting responsibility. Check out this shameful legal action by Transocean. No wonder liberals can paint big business as evil, when they are handed acts like this on a silver platter.

Yeah, and I'll tell you what else is getting old...really old. President Bush never opening his mouth to say ONE SINGLE WORD in his own defense.

Bush should have defended himself while he was in office. I'll give you that.

But it is so obvious at this point that Dodd, et al, are absolute lunatics to blame Bush for this that it would be ridiculous for Bush to say a word.

Exactly , he’s a criminal and no one gives a rats ass what he says. Should be in jail and I hope when America is restored we pass new laws that will put anyone in politics in jail must easier once they break the public trust.

Sorry, but I don't agree at. Aren't YOU able to defend YOUR stands and principles without sounding like a "crybaby?" How about Ronald Reagan, he certainly was able to smack down the press, and God knows he was hated by them, and loved by the people for it. Instead we have had either no response or been stuck with milktoast "New Toners" like Dana Perino et al.

Put me on the Chris Christie bandwagon. A man who can defend himself, his policies and principles, and conservative principles with vigor, clarity, coherence, and strength.

How utterly REFRESHING.

President Bush never opening his mouth to say ONE SINGLE WORD in his own defense.

What’s the use? Bush haters will always be Bush haters. Leftists will always be leftists. He took that $hit for 8 years. Maybe one day he will do a book otherwise, I hope he is living in peace. And, yes, I voted for him twice too.

Unless we get rid of Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, just to name a few of the rotton ones, or the madness will go on. The Tea Party has a number of the Rino’s and really rottom Dims in their headlights, so one by one they MUST be taken out until we get back to the reality of what America was founded for, how and where we got off the track, and how we can make the big pull back and stop of socialism/communism run which is beginning to take hold in our country. We do not need to follow the European templet. It is already in the dumper. Conservatism works everytime it is tried.

Oh yes, and I also heard that it was Bush who convinced Pharoah to harden his heart...

I also found another passage (this one is from Esther’s banquet):
King Xerxes asked Queen Esther, “Who is he? Where is the man who has dared to do such a thing?”

Esther said, “The adversary and enemy is this vile Bush.”

I don’t know. But then I wasn’t talking about anyone in particular; I was saying that if he went out all the time trying to ‘defend himself’, someone would’ve been sure to say he was a crybaby, like Obama! Good grief! You sure quick-to-the-draw on knee-jerk, aren’t you?
