Yesterday, The New York Times published another front-page article based on a leaked classified document. This time, it was an order signed by Gen. David Petraeus authorizing black operations against adversaries and such dubious friends as Iran, Syria, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
Gee, thanks. We really needed to know that. The world's a better place now.
Yet the Times' sin was the lesser one. The paper has long since given up any pretense of patriotism. (Ugh! Yuck!) Its editors are just publishing and perishing as citizens of the world.
It's whoever leaked the document that bears the burn-in-hell blame.
We must be able to keep secrets in wartime. But we can't. Because domestic political agendas trump national security in every administration nowadays.

truth is, I am very dissappointed with out so called military leaders....
perhaps I'm wrong.....maybe the reason these generals work for bama is because they're afraid of what would replace them...who knows...
It’s not merely “loose lips”, it is treasonous activity by the Fifth Column, including the original leaker.
We are surely on the way to destruction when treason not only becomes routine, but is expected.
I know that when officers get birds and stars on their collars a lot of it has to do with politics. I also feel, as you do, that they can't all be just political whores. I hope that I'm right in thinking that a good number of them are motivated by things like the oath they once took.
Regardless, I have and will be spending time at the range. I hope others will be doing the same. We the people need to be prepared to deal with contingencies. I don't think we have every lived thru as dangerous a domestic time in our country's history as we are living thru now. We must all be prepared to do things to fix it that we never would have imagined.
try calling your GOP rep and ask if they said ANYTHING... complained even ONCE about the disclosure of classified information.
the answer will be no.
either it’s a crime to disclose classified information... or it is not. you cannot have it both ways and expect anyone to believe we live in a nation of laws.
a nation of cute-guidelines-you-can-follow-when-it-suits-you ... maybe
I wouldnt expect too much from Republicans.
They more or less stand around sucking their thumbs.
There may be 5 of them worth their salt.
Replace all incumbents.
Nailed it.
I don't think we need go that far. Burning in the electric chair would be quite sufficient.
...I’m tired of political generals...what began under Nixon with Alexander Haig has only gotten worse...countries that don’t keep their army out of politics; and keep politics out of their army; end up with juntas and firing squads.
The easy way to look at it is that the left does not lack loyalty at all — it is merely loyal to international socialism rather than the USA.
When you see them for what they are and what they really believe, their actions are crystal clear.
Expect nothing from these so-called officers and gentlemen.
What do they have to look forward to when they retire?
For one thing, if they retire in good graces of the civilian ran DoD, then there are consultancies, board memberships of the various contractors, a whole gravy train awaits them.
Now if they leave in a huff?
They'll be just another guy down at the VFW, crying in their beer.
A bit harsh?
Well the above was told me by a (retired) 0-7, in response to a question about the attack on the USS Liberty.
That needs to be made into a billboard.
