Special counsel is now unlikely in Sestak's White House job investigation

Dont expect the flap over an alleged job offer the White House made to U.S. Rep. Joseph Sestak, D-7, of Edgmont to let up any time soon.
Sestak, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Sen. Arlen Specters seat in the November mid-term election, told veteran reporter Larry Kane in February that the offer came last July with the caveat that Sestak bow out of the Senate primary.
At the time of the alleged offer, Specter was a newly minted Democrat and was running for a sixth term with the full backing of President Barack Obama. After Sestak won the primary election, that support has now swung his way.
But Sestaks disclosure of the alleged job offer caused an immediate stir from the other side of the aisle, which hasnt abated.
U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., fired off a series of letters in March and April to White House Counsel Gary Bauer seeking answers, and to Attorney General Eric Holder asking that a special counsel be appointed to investigate the claim.
Issa pointed to a federal statute that bars federal employees from using official authority for the purpose of interfering with, or affecting, the nomination or the election of any candidate to the U.S. Senate and other seats. Such a violation could carry a fine or imprisonment of up to a year, according to the statute.
A response letter from the U.S. Department of Justice Tuesday indicated it is unlikely that counsel will be appointed.
The Department of Justice
has a long history of handling investigations of high-level officials professionally and independently, without the need to appoint special counsel, the letter reads.

Issa up next on Fox News.
Rumor in Washington is that the president is truly frightened over this likelihood (and he should be)!
Do not put much faith in Napalitano... he has been wrong with his critique more than once... he is more of a celebrity hack that was once a NJ justice. Outside of the confusion of NJ law... he is below average. Not much there IMHO.

Now lessee if the Washington Compost and Bob Woodward pick up on this. Any bets?

You just made my day.
Napolitano is irking my last nerve these days.
Hard to distinguish between him and his namesake, incompetano.

I hope that Sean Hannity continues to do a great job on NAVYGATE.He did a great job last night.
The dynamic that fascinates me in this is how this relates to Sestak’s race against Toomey.
I don’t think anything will come of this. Just like nothing came of any of the following.
- In violation of the 2008 Inspectors General Reform Act, Obama illegally fires AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin for his investigation into the misuse of federal funds by Sacramento Mayor, Kevin Johnson, who is a prominent Obama supporter.
- Head Bankruptcy Attorney Tom Lauria of White & Case alleges that Obama’s Car Czar, Steve Rattner, threatened Perella Weinberg into accepting the Chrysler restructuring plan proposed by the WH.
