CLEVELAND Comedian Drew Carey, wearing a loud black-and-white checkered blazer, marched into City Hall in his hometown on Thursday and told council members what they're doing wrong.
Respectfully, of course...

-"As council members listened warily, Carey urged the city to privatize government-owned businesses, examine its zoning laws and become more business-friendly... ...we're not at all suggesting that if you do this one thing, your whole life will be solved," Carey said. "But whatever combination you have here in Cleveland just isn't cutting it."
.
-"Council members bristled at many of Carey's suggestions and defended the city's efforts to pull itself out of a slump...Michael Polensek, the longest-serving council member, went on a long rant about how policies enacted by federal and state officials have crippled Cleveland's urban areas. He also complained that businesses have failed to invest in the downtown area."
“businesses have failed to invest in the downtown area”
high crime and high taxes.
Gee, who wouldn’t open a business?/sarc
of course they don’t listen. ever tried talking to your congressman? call their office? it’s all a big blow off.
they do not care what we have to say. not one wit. they only put up with it as they are required to do... in order to continue collecting the checks.
you have no representation. 70-85% of the country didn’t want 0bamacare. did their representatives care? did they represent their views? hardly.
Don't even have to look him up to figure he is a lib. "It's not our\my fault. Blame big business."
Maybe businesses have failed to invest in the downtown area because the local gubment sucks!
And as usual, nothing will be done to turn it around until they get 100% fresh blood in office.
The RAT machine won’t allow that.
You just gotta know how to get their attention.

BTW I tend to think Carey is right.
Liberals believe that businesses are actually charitable foundations with unlimited resources and their purpose is to provide jobs and support politicians. They get upset when those foundations don’t recognize the superior wisdom of liberal politicians.
I’ve been following Carey and scrutinizing his political leanings. I would submit he is what is known as a Conservatarian. He would be for many libertarian ideas like legalizing Weed (something I think makes sense for the same reasons legalizing alcohol made sense) but he is for a strong military and a Government that should provide certain infrastructure and a few services (Roads, regulation of trade, Waterway infrastructure, border patrolling and defense, a very basic monetary safety net like social security but provided under the same rules pensions are supposed to operate A.K.A. hands off the freaking money that is for the fund.) stuff like that.
Cleveland has bigger fish to fry right now.
Like re-signing LeBron.
I used to enjoy “The Drew Carey Show”—until it became increasingly about crossdressing transexuals.
DC is a pretty good guy, and I agree with a lot of what he says on Reason.tv I subscribe to it on youtube.
Actually there is a name for his type of libertarianism it is called minarchism.

Gee, who wouldnt open a business?/sarc
You forgot: restrictive zoning, union intimidation, graft seeking bureaucrats, and poorly run public utilities.
I could also throw in the city of Cleveland attempting to enforce gun laws that have already been struck down.
I was looking for Monica Conyers videos one day and found that one. There’s some serious crazy running loose on the streets of America.
Yes, there is some serious crazy. His spech, in the beginning anyway, reminded me of Mr. Obama at his press conference today.
Interesting thing, to me, about that guy, is that he kept to his time limit. Many sane people have a hard time doing that.
All in all, I gave him a thumbs up. ; - )

My greatest memory of this fair city is damn near getting beaten to death by a cadre of union hoodlums while attempting to setup a trade show booth. Because uhh... the work I was doing had to be done by union electricians.
