They left out Bill, the galactic hero! No Oscar "Scar" Gordon?
And *none* of the several candidates from the Dorsai (Childe Cycle) stories?
Oh; it is all film stuff.
Sorry.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don’t care, I’m still free
You can’t take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain’t comin’ back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can’t take the sky from me
There’s no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can’t take the sky from me...

Theres nothing wrong with looking at Sci-Fi warrior heroes, and memorial day is as good a day as any to do it. The mistake is linking the actions of, lets face it, made up heroes, with the stories of real people.

No Lt. Col. Samantha Carter? I salute every time I see her. Or think about her.

I wore the uniform, so did my dad and both my uncles, two of whom served in combat, and this thread does not bother me at all.
