Haven’t eaten at a McDonald’s since mid 1970’s, and am certain I won’t be eating there anytime soon.
I would not have assumed that gays felt unwelcome at McDonald’s (or any other fast food restaurant) and that ‘now the welcome mat is out’ ...unless there was a boycott I didn’t hear about.
So, if Wendy’s or Burger King doesn’t create an advertisement welcoming gays, does that mean they are not ‘gay friendly’ or are ‘not inclusive’ as opposed to McDonalds? I’ve always read that gays have higher amounts of disposable income which may mean they do not frequent McDonalds at levels matching their presence in the population - did this trigger McDonalds new ad or does Micky D’s just want to get some attention by advertising the obvious - they will happily sell food to people who want to buy it?
This was such a sad advertisement. It doesn’t make me interested in eating at McDonald’s; it makes me think about the heartbreak of that poor deceived father.

I gave up on McDonald’s AGES ago due to their marketing.
It is wrong because the practice of homosexuality is a totally unnatural act and McDonald’s is basically endorsing the practice of homosexuality.
Why in the world does any restuarant need to indentify the sexual activity of customers. Do homosexuals not eat at McDonald’s? Will McDonald’s feel the need to reach out to those who engage in bondage? Will McDonald’s be really “progressive” and try and get NAMBLA into their places?
I'd rather sit down across from somebody with manners, regardless of how they look or their sexual orientation, than some a$$hole who lacks common decent manners and annoys everybody.
Of course, I only go to McD's when I'm driving long distances, which is not often. As noted elsewhere on the thread, they serve items which are only vaguely related to actual food...
That is like some really bad 70s era politically correct after school special... no telling what dad will do when he finds out his kid went poofta.
My last encounter with an overseas McDonald's was on the outskirts of Paris where some armed robbers took it over. We were in the hotel next door and my wife was surprised to see a SWAT team run through during her breakfast (I was upstairs preparing for the day's business). I had to walk a different route to my meetings after arguing with a policeman just to leave the hotel -- but hours later they stormed the place only to find it empty: the robbers had left along with their hostages.
Oops.
But all that said, and I know folks will dump on the French police over this: I would NOT want to be a suspect in the hands of the French police. From what I gather you might be better off with the French than with the German Polizei, but you'd be way far better off in America. (Knowledge ascertained from some who have lived abroad.)
