Poll: Angle leads among GOP to face Reid

By Ralph Z. Hallow

3:25 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010

EXCLUSIVE:

Buoyed by endorsement from top conservatives, Sharron Angle has jumped into the lead among Republicans vying in Tuesday's primary for the right to face off against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this fall, according to a poll released Thursday.

Endorsed by the Tea Party Express and the Club for Growth among others, Mrs. Angle, a former state assemblywoman with a conservative voting record, now leads former Nevada Republican Party Chairman Sue Lowden, according to David Paleologos, who conducted the poll for the Suffolk University Political Research Center.

The possible dethronement of a Democrat whom some political observers regard as the second-most powerful politician the country has drawn attention to a GOP nomination contest that, in the latest poll of 400 likely GOP voters, has the top three contestants in what amounts to a statistical tie, Mr. Paleologos told The Washington Times.

It was understandable that the political world from Las Vegas to New York City was abuzz on Wednesday with rumors that Mrs. Angle had leaped ahead of Mrs. Lowden -- long before the Suffolk poll's release.

Also in the article is the information that Angle blocked the NV governor's tax increase (800 million) back in 2003.

She had to take it to the U.S. Supreme Court, where she prevailed.

Heard Angle last nite on Rusty Humphries show....sounds like a good candidate.

Sounds like Sue Lowden is kinda RINO....not real familiar with her.

I know about Danny Tarkanian.....hey if you follow college hoops you already know who he is. Wonder if he chews on towels like his dad ;-)

“...Mr. Reid has a tougher-than-usual-road to hoe this year, placing under 45 percent in hypothetical match-ups against any Republican challenger in polls so far this year.

But Mr. Reid, with $9 million cash on hand according to his latest filing with the Federal Election Commission, has more than 30 times as much to spend on the election than either Mrs. Angle or Mrs. Lowden.”

If the money just went for advertising I would be more optimistic. If it goes towards union scum, ACORN, corrupt officials, etc., I see a Franken style win for the nasty little man.

Reid is corrupt as they come, is in bed with the mobsters

He was/is on the gaming commission and overruled the rest of the commissioners to give a gambling license to one of his gangster cronies.

Whatever October Surprise he plans needs to be shot down quickly. Hopefully they will bring it out early enough to vaporize it.

I think the October surprise will be national in scope.

I expect Michael Steele will light the fuse.

"Although used to prevailing in close general elections, Mr. Reid has a tougher-than-usual-road to hoe this year . . ."

ROAD to hoe? Man, that's tough for anybody. Now, ROW to hoe is more understandable.

I guess the lamestream media have decided that good diction and grammar are optional in these days of hope and change.

Incredibly, in both CA and NV we will nominate candidates who are behind in the polls instead of ones that can beat dem incumbents. In our never ending drive for ideological purity, we will allow Reid and Boxer to be re-elected, when they could have been easily beaten.

tougher-than-usual-road

Also, that last hyphen doesn’t belong in there. You hyphenate the adjectival phrase, but don’t include the noun.

It should read:

tougher-than-usual row

Illiterates all.

I got the heads up about this article from the folks at Tea Party Express, here is some of it below:

But we've gotten a bit sidetracked, so please forgive me.  You see, a brand new poll has come out that shows Sharron Angle has jumped to an 8% lead over the GOP establishment candidate she faced.  This is stunning folks - and a testament to the power of this tea party movement, and (as Sharron Angle says) this tsunami of conservatism that's sweeping across America.

The poll by Suffolk University Political Research, and published by the Washington Times, shows Angle continuing to surge.  She's now at 33% and leading the field!  When we endorsed Sharron Angle on April 15th she stood at just 5% in the polls.

It's working folks - and it's all because of you!  Your donations, and the volunteer efforts of those of you in Nevada, are helping us to defeat the political machine and establishment politicians.

The primary election is now just 5 Days away and we're about to go up with a brand new 60-second TV ad.  We'll send you a copy of the ad to view this evening.  But realize that 60-second ads are the most expensive ads to run - and we are determined to win this race.  So we'll need your help to close out this race strong and secure VICTORY!

From the Wall Street Journal:
Ms. Angle boasts a lengthening train of conservative organizations backing her, including the Tea Party Express, Phyllis Schlafly's Eagle Forum, the Club for Growth, Gun Owners of America, Nevada Concerned Citizens, Nevada Republican Assembly and Nevada Home School Network. The Tea Party Express is expected to unveil new ads that it will run on her behalf later this week.
Thanks for the bump Vox!

It’s because they spellcheck but spellcheck does not catch incorrect words. Writers and editors have become completely reliant on it and are now unbelievably lazy.
