Gee, I wish I were still an NRA member, so that I could quit again, as I did two months ago.

They don’t represent me.

WHO will rid us of this RINO scum? WHY are these people and organizations supporting him when they KNOW he will stab all of us in the back at the very first chance he gets!?!

Ni, I wasn’t aware of that...makes me wonder if Pratt really understands what NetNeutrality entails.

The NRA is worthless anymore.

Except, of course, for being one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the Country whose clout puts fear into the hearts of liberal politicians.

This is completely stupid. The NRA should have waited until after the primary.

Now, they’ve gone and done an immensely stupid thing.

No surprise. The NRA is a gun rights marketing organization. They market the idea of gun rights, and do it quite profitably, but when it comes down to actually getting in the political mix, they’re usually nowhere to be found. Don’t want to rock the boat afterall.

Other much smaller gun rights organizations do the real heavy lifting. In Arizona, AzCDL has been doing some great stuff of late. Here in VA, it’s VCDL who usually gets things done.

Since the thread was started by FR’s most ubiquitous libertarian and the discussion is heavily populated by libertarians, so it’s not surprising that GOP is getting bashed, I kind of wondered when did 2nd amendment become such a big libertarian issue?

Great example of how a single-issue position can yield the worst result.

Pay little attention to all the NRA bashing you are seeing. They(the NRA) base their endorsement on voting RECORD only. I don’t agree with them this time ,either, BUT,While Mc Cain has not been a 100% friend of gunowners, he has supported us MOST of the time. While I encourage supporting GOA, and other organizations as well, the NRA is still on our side. And while I’m not in Arizona, I am not much more impressed with Mc Cains opponent than I am with him....IMHO.

Why on earth would those running the NRA go against its’ members by supporting a sell out like McCain?

It appears to me that we are not going to rid ourselves of McCain as hoped.

I am afraid you are right. I don't know how the guy can show his face. I am refusing to give to the RNC until I know for certain they are not going to shove another wimp in our faces as a presidential candidate.

and the next time I get a plea for $$ from the NRA I will say "no" because of this inconsiderate endorsement.
