Personally, I think folks dismiss this at their own peril.

I may not buy into it 100%, but to ignore it is to ignore something prophesied about for thousands of years.

If we are a God fearing people, then we should consider heavily these times and whether they are a fulfillment of Biblical prophesy.

I lean toward some variation of this overwhelmingly, the pondering of it to be advised.

I could say the same to your response to my post. I will (figuratively) roll my eyes on any news thread I wish until the mods tell me otherwise. If you don't want ridicule or dissent on a thread you should tell the poster to post in the religion forum in the Hal Lindsay caucus or whatever.

Even Mr. Netanyahu agrees that Ezekiel's prophecy (Chapter 38 & 39) may indeed soon come to pass. Zechariah and most of the other Biblical prophets wrote that the entire world would be against Israel in the last days. Well, it is here and happening before our very eyes. I think this scenario happens so that Israel will finally realize that their only hope of help, from those that would destroy them, is from God alone. The Lord also proclaims that He performs the miraculous for His name sake... that His name would no longer be profained among the nations. When all the nations confederate against Israel, and are destroyed as prophecized, then all nations will realize that it was God's judgement.

As a Christian and a follower of the Lord of Hosts (I believe the Messiah was fulfilled in Jesus Christ... soon to return to earth at the end of the coming battle) who will return to rule the earth from the Temple Mount after the final battle called Armageddon. Only then will there be peace.

I love Israel, the Jewish people and support them 1,000 %. They are God's people and He has used them over the centuries to bring His word, light and salvation to all peoples.

As a side analysis, Islam completely fulfills all the specifics of the endtime prophetic scenario, all the details of the coming Antichrist and the unavoidable clash between the sons of Abraham. Revelation spells it out ... blow by blow until it climaxes in the return of His Branch Jesus Christ, who stops the battle before it totally destroys the earth. He will rule with a rod of iron over the remaining nations and peace will break out...
