Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the 2005 disappearance of American teen Natalee Holloway, reportedly confessed to murdering Stephany Flores in Peru after she grabbed his laptop and learned about his connection to Holloways disappearance.
I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life," van der Sloot told Peruvian authorities, according to La Republica newspaper.
He said he became enraged after Flores snatched his computer, snapping her neck and striking her, the paper said.
"She had no right," he reportedly griped to investigators. "She was scared, we argued, she tried to escape and I grabbed her by the neck and hit her."
The Dutch playboy was charged last week in the brutal slaying of Flores, 21 -- who was murdered five years to the day after Holloway, 18, vanished while on a class trip to Aruba.
Fox News, citing Peruvian media, reported that van der Sloot spilled the beans in order to get a reduced jail sentence.

If his family members have intact consciences, they have many years of regret and torment ahead of them.
Please remember that dad advised sh*thead Joran “If they can’t find the body then there is no crime”.
Strongly doubt anyone in the family is worried in any way.
What you posted I’d never heard about the family before. Good grief.
I got a pit in my stomach reading it. Being Catholic myself, makes it even worse.
There have been times in my life, that despite having to apologize for being middle class and raising a son in a town more like Mayberry than Manhattan, that I’ve been relieved.
This is one of those times.
Interesting point. I coach 12 year old baseball, and one can clearly identify the kids that are raised in homes where their actions have consequences, and those who get away with everything.
I would guess that Van Der Sloot never faced any consequences for his actions growing up, and now that the parents are not there to stop that from happening, he finally will have to take responsibility.
Parents mean well by not letting their children face unpleasant consequences, but they cause immeasurable damage to their own children, and those around those kids.
if she were checking to see who the guy was - all she would've put into the search site would've been his name - and she would've gotten pages and pages of hits re the Halloway case.
But, hey, she asked for it - after all she "intruded" on his personal life. (That shows you how twisted the puke is. He believes he was justified.)
I wonder if they wouldn't be wise to check on unsolved murders that match up in different countries with his travels.
That too, is interesting.
There was an incident, when my son was in 3rd or 4th grade, in which he was being bullied by another student. The teacher could not know which kid was telling the truth; it was autumn, not late in the school year. Finally, after the holidays, in January, the sister (Catholic school) called me into school for a meeting: me, my son, the principal, and the sister. While I knew my son was telling the truth, you can imagine that I was mortified he would be kicked out or something.
Only the sister spoke, she was spare in her words. She said “I did not know what to make of the allegations, so I did what people need to do in these things. History. I went back and consulted with each and every teacher you and XXX had from the day you began at our school. I reviewed their notes about you, and the notes about how your family has conducted itself, with respect to our school. You have a reputation, young man. (at this point, my son looked over to me and...gulped). For this reason, I have informed XXX and his parents that they are on probation. His conduct is not welcome here, but we are forgiving, and I know you will be as well.”
Sister never threw my kid a bone and told him how good his reputation was.LOL We later learned that XXX had a mom at home who had just gotten a divorce and then learned she had breast cancer. It was very sad. These two boys ended up being friends with each other.
There are two things in my life I will never regret doing. One is insisting on Catholic school for my son (until high school). The other is convincing him as he traversed from middle school to high school, was joining the Marching Band.
I’m amazed at the intuitive insight that teachers have.
LOL
Meet "Forrest" the field mouse that loves to 'run.'
Over 5 years ago (they're not supposed to live that long) - one late fall nite, my son - who was sleeping in his bedroom without the heat on - thought he felt something on his leg. he sleepily glanced, didn't see anything, so snoozed off again.
Then he felt something on his chest. Looking down, there was this tiny, half grown field mouse, sitting up, looking at him, shivering to death - begging for help.
My son came out of his room with the mouse cupped in his hands and said: "Now what do I do, ma?"
And so, Forrest got his new home - in a big fish tank - where he has enjoyed his space, his runs, his exercise machine, and free food and beverage for years. He won't eat 'mouse food' from the pet store, but loves greens like dandelion and clover = and in winter, spinach, radish tops, etc. - and pumpkin seeds - especially salted ones!, organic cereals - won't touch the others - nuts, etc..
He drives my cat crazy. She sits beside the glass wall - with an inch between them and will - still - make a lunge and bonk off the glass, while Forrest, who knows she can't reach him, flaunts his safety.
Loving parents can still make mistakes.
That is the sweetest thing. OMG. How beautiful.
OMG...Lord have mercy. LOL
I can add to that.
After my divorce, when my son was “the man of the house” and I noted that a field mouse was spotted, I screamed like my hair was on fire. My son calmly stayed in his room. I was not amused.
Finally, he rolled out of his room and down the hall, announcing that “Mom, we have to have a discussion with respect to your rodent discrimination.”
HE WAS WEARING THE MICKEY MOUSE EARS FROM DISNEY WORLD HE GOT FROM THE BAND TRIP I CUT COUPONS TO FUND !!!!!!
I’m howling as I am typing this. lol
Hey, that’s even better. He deserves it!
Peru must be more liberal than Texas on the penalties.....only eligible for 35 years??????????? What the heck is that? Perhaps his coprisoners will correct that problem.
I don’t think he’ll survive in prison.
Agreed. I have suspected a deep involvement in human trafficking (white slavery) all along...
What a wonderful story. We have always told our sons that their reputations and that of the family are important, and not to do anything to sully them. They get tired of hearing it, of course. One day I hope they’ll similarly beat the drum of family reputation with their own kids.
If it’s true he lost his temper, then this was a crime in the moment and not preplanned. I’m curious to know what’s on that laptop. He went to great lengths to protect it’s contents.
Here’s my conspiratorial mind: why was she going on his laptop? Did she send him out of the room on false pretense just to snoop for some reason? Is Greta on to something when she wants to know why the FBI didn’t arrest him when they could have? Aruba notified the FBI he was leaving the country. Did the FBI follow?
Given his general sloppiness, he probably forgot to delete the browser history.
Her father said the police are going over his computer minutely, looking for evidence of possible previous victims (in addition to Holloway).
Our cats were rescued from a feral colony when they were quite tiny kittens. They hadn't yet learned to hunt from their momma when they were rescued, so they can be quite funny when they encounter a mouse. We've had occasions when the smarter one of the two catches a mouse somewhere in the house. She has the instinct and ability to stalk and catch it, but not to kill it. She carries it to the bathtub, plays with it a while, and then leaves. The mouse escapes, leaving behind a bit of fur, some mouse poo and sometimes a drop or two of blood. I've never seen them kill a mouse, although I can't rule out death from internal injuries somewhere in the attic. It's a wonder they don't have mousie cardio deaths. Silly cats - totally useless as mousers, but sweet.
