Its actually good news if true. It indicates an increase in shipping. DHL, like every company coming out of a recession, will first hire temp and part time workers to satisfy the demand. Then as the business climate becomes more clear they will staff themselves with full timers. So the question is what is driving shipping at this location?

Because that’s where I put it. Call the hall monitor if you’re not happy with my decision.

Then don’t apply for the jobs. My word... I thought this would be treated as good news. Obviously not.

Actually, I couldn’t link. Cincinnati.com gets bent out of shape about copyright infringement. But I heard in on the news. WKRC.

I don’t know what the initials stand for...but they are a packing handling company like Fed Ex.

DHL is having trouble breaking into the U.S. market against their two biggest U.S. competitors, FedEx and UPS.

They have a small regional operation in Washington, Pennsylvania which actually makes sense because it is a straight shot down I-79 from the Pittsburgh airport so doesn't get mixed with the traffic going into the city.

But with FedEx Ground headquartered here and UPS having a massive facility, they've always had trouble in this particular market.

I believe the German Postal System is one of DHL's biggest stockholders-- so massive hiring at their Cincinnati Hub probably means a renewed push to get back into markets like ours.

Nothing like those kind of numbers on their website.

Searched for Ohio and Kentucky and only got five postings.

Executive and mid level jobs.

Things are going up. 300 jobs (part time)...now we only need about 8 million and we will really be on the road to recovery.
