Tell that to the indians. White people were long a minority in what was to become the US. Assimilation only works if the newcomers accept it and the natives demand it. Neither seems to be the case today.

And none of the non-anglo European groups arrived in the same numbers that hispanics do nowadays. Nor did they feel that several US states really belonged to them while viewing Americans as the enemy. What the US faces today is completely diffrerent from previous waves of immigrants.

Because illegal aliens are ignorant.

At least the Census will show us what areas: A) to avoid, and; B) where the first shots will be fired when it all collapses.

i’m just shocked. you mean, the community organizing arm of the democrat party, ACORN, was able to ‘locate’ more minorities for the census? go figure.

and i would bet it was mostly in dem districts... therefore, their districts should receive more federal tax dollars

the corruption is just obvious

Are you under-informed? There were no formal documents in 1492 AD. But those arrows natives hurled at the invaders from Europe was concrete proof they were not welcome. Just ask general Custer if you do not believe me.

Also some stupid white folks are bragging that they did not fill their race on the 2010 census under the silly pretense “it is not the government business to know my race” and therefore since their race did not count as white then there would be less whites counted in the 2010 census than the real number of whites that exists in the country. I think it is really stupid that those folks did not fill the race in the 2010 census.

You are very well informed on the 3 races. However not all Mexicans have native Indian blood in them. A good percentage are pure Spaniards since Spain invaded Mexico big time.

And to my knowledge Spaniards are predominantly “white” except for the few who have some Moorish blood.

Lot of people do not know for example than Iranians belong to Caucasian race. There is no such race as Iranian if you have been a student of anthropology.

In America, talking about race is verboten, unless of course you are in a protected class. It is impossible to have a rational discussion about race in public, because if you don’t say what is considered “correct”, you will be shouted down and ridiculed as a racist without due process.

While race can be corellated to an outcome, culture is a much more accurate indicator of success in a society or civilization. Races are often associated with particular cultures, but in reality that is not the case. For example, the Germanic tribes of northern europe, largerly responsible for the fall of Rome, were almost genetically identical to their southern cousins, but their civiliations were radically far apart. In Rome, people lived in homes of masonry bricks and had indoor plumbing. In Trier, they lived in mud-thatch huts and dug holes for their sewage.

The problem is, in this country, there are huge divides among large portions of our population. We all know what these are: Whites, Blacks and Hispanics.

Blacks started off here as slaves, therefore, they really don’t have a culture in real historical terms, and didn’t get much say in the formation of our Constitution. The black american culture is unique in the modern world and there really isn’t much history for comparison.

The Hispanic migration into the USA in only the last few years numbers in the 10s of millions. To think this won’t have an impact on American culture and its governmental insitutions is naive. The New World cultures of latin america have suffered over the last century in a succession of bannana republics and tinpot dictators. The succession roughly works out like this: popular revolution, socialism, government failure, military takeover, tin pot dicatotor, repeat and rinse again.

I’ll leave it to everyone to form their own opinion about the value and advancement of each ot these cultures, but the fact is, the cultural element that created the conditions for the formation of our Constitution, no longer exist. I don’t pose this as a question of value, its just a simple fact.

I think the only way America survives our problems and remains great, is for those groups who migrate here, or are descendants of former slaves, to see the value in the forefather’s vision regardless of race.

The institutions that are responsible for teaching the growing demographic groups in our country about the philosophical underpinnings of the american way of life, are doing exactly the opposite. They cast the forefathers as evil greedy racists and toss their wisdom out with it. Which includes Roman-Greco and Judeo-Christian beliefs that are the foundations and unique concotion that led to America;s rapid ascendancy to the greatest nation in the history of the world. Not only do they dismiss the sucess of these ideas and beliefs, they breed contempt for them.

I pray that God opens all our people’s eyes to the beauty of liberty and freedom, regardless of race, because freedom is the only path to harmony with your fellow man. And the rabid appreciation of freedom is truly unique to American culture. Therein lies our hope, not for a race, but for humanity. If these demographic groups choose the failed policies of Mao and Castro, we have a future of starvation and suffering ahead.

They are believed to have come from Asia crossing the land bridge between the two continents.

However....and this is important....THERE WAS NO HUMANS LIVING IN AMERICA prior to the arrival of native Indians. Therefore they were not illegal immigrants.

I understand that differentiation and I agree with it.

None the less, under the present conditions, we can’t exactly forbid ourselves to reference Hispanic, because there really isn’t another term to address with inclusion all that are here illegally. Even that definition doesn’t address all of them, but it’s the closest descriptor we have.

If we start nuancing ourselves to death, we’ll get nowhere.

I don’t want to describe this situation as “Mexicans” every time I open my mouth. I realize that from 65 to 75% of our illegal problems are associated with Mexico, but as you say, other Central and South Americans are also involved here.

So we’ll either have to agree to disagree or we’ll be at each others throats instead of focusing on the problematic people who deserve our attention.

I appreciate your nice reply. I don’t mean to be a jerk to you, but this issue has been on my radar from one degree or another for 25 years. And while we allowed this to fester because almost nobody would take it serious, we have been severely compromised.

Well, I understand your point. If she came here legally and is a U.S. Citizen, she’s not that much different than you and I, except that her birth loyalty is to another nation. Thus she may be very sympathetic to the plight of people who wish to make excuses for breaking our laws and abusing our citizens.

I actually have less sympathy for those who enable law breaking as a citizen, than I do the actual illegal immigrants. And I don’t have much patience with that at all.

Thank you for the mention. It is strange to think of Mexican citizens like the one you mention, but there are actually many of them.

If she spoke English I would be a lot more inclined to accept her as one of our own. If I went to Mexico, it wouldn’t be six months before I would be fluent in Spanish and speak like a native. IMO, that would be the respectful thing to do.

Really? You're KIDDING!/s

You may have noticed that most countries have those documents NOW. or are YOU under-informed?

But those arrows natives hurled at the invaders from Europe was concrete proof they were not welcome. Just ask general Custer if you do not believe me.

Are you advocating violence to protect our borders in order to provide that "concrete proof"? That must mean you are in favor of the killing of the fifteen year old on the border. YOU INHUMAN MONSTER!!!!! /s

PS- The battle of Little Big Horn was well after 1492. And well away from Puerto Rico. Yeah, you seem to be a bit on the cretinous side.

I'll bet your time on this site can be measured in days, if not hours. Good luck.

By definition those who came here illegally have already broken a law. Even if they are performing useful, low paid jobs, I still am against amnesty. They should go back and wait in line just like millions from several countries around the world are doing.

Laws can not be obeyed selectively. That is a slippery slope to anarchy.

I concur with you that once one acquires American citizenship, one must be loyal to this country and put it ahead of country of origin.

Here in southwest Washington state there are loads of illegal Russians. Many of them do not speak any English. When they come for medical treatment at our facility, the tax payers provide paid translators to accompany them.

Point taken, but to say there were no humans living in America prior to Indians is to assume that there are records/proof showing same. You cannot make that assumption.

At this point I’m all for people going back and there being no line whatsoever to get back in.

We have been so gourged with foreign nationals over the last thirty years, we need to end all immigration for 20 years to assimilate who we have.

This includes reinforcing the need to support the U.S. and show loyalty to it over just about anything else. Family and religion would come first, as long as the religion were not primarily anti-U.S. If it were anti-U.S. then it should be closed, and it’s members sent packing.

I’m not talking about religious persecution here. I’m talking about organized subversion with the intent to overturn the present United States.

We’ve got some real problems brewing in this nation.

There are things going on that are just mind-numbing.

There are new reports every day with things that should never have gotten to this point.

Those people should be loaded up and deported.

If they are here illegally, they should be on the first boat out.

Have you heard of any group of people living in North America prior to arrival of American Indians? Has any anthropological evidence been dug up to prove such people existed? I am not aware of any but I am not a professor of anthropology so I could be wrong.

Getting back to our original subject, I still contend Europeans were the first wave of illegal immigrants in the eyes of native Americans. Do I wish to send them back to Europe? NO!!!

The European invaders made USA what it is today. They worked and contributed in creation of the best country in the world at least until now. After Obama gets through with it who knows.

Next point, do I condone next wave of illegal immigrants? NO!! United States is no longer under populated. We only need highly educated & skilled immigrants now who can contribute to enhance prosperity & living standards. We certainly do not need unskilled, criminals, welfare type people coming here.

We are mostly in agreement.

I do not agree that a largely nomadic people, composed of many separate tribal communities constitutes a country, a union, a shared political or social philosophy or a single united people. Therefore, Europeans could not have been “the first wave of illegal immigrants”.
