Sarah Palin, Forbesian
Nation Review ^ | Sunday June 13, 2010 | Jane Nordlinger

Posted on 06/13/2010 8:20:54 PM PDT by Bigtigermike

A few days ago, I did a post in which I linked to an article about Sarah Palin. The article was published shortly after Palin was nominated for vice president. My purpose in citing the article was to say something about Palin and Israel. But I noticed something else in the article that I thought I’d bring up here.

In the 2000 presidential cycle, Palin was mayor of Wasilla. And she was formally with . . . whose campaign? Steve Forbes’s. I think that most people think of Palin as a “social conservative,” as indeed she is. But she’s also a raging free-marketeer — in fact, one of the most robust, full-hearted, and full-throated proponents of a free market in American politics today.

Funny that she’s so seldom described this way. Many of the “cool” Republicans disdain her. You know the type of Republican I mean: the type that wants the party to drop abortion and other icky, discomforting issues. But, if entrepreneurial capitalism’s your thing, Palin is your woman, or at least someone to appreciate. She ought to have the appreciation of the entrepreneurially minded everywhere. It’s just that some people can never forgive her for not aborting a Down-syndrome child. Believe me, I know such people (I’m sorry to say).

One of the dizzier complaints I’ve heard anti-Palinists make against her is to compare her to Reagan. They say because Reagan wrote volumes about conservatism in his private letters and Palin didn’t, that somehow disqualifies Palin. Well then, if that were so, every Republican candidate for prez should have written tons of words concerning conservatism. Obviously, the great majority of them haven’t. What a good prez candidate needs is a basic understand of American history, the constitution, free-market economics, and the backbone to stick to principles under fire. These qualities Palin seems to have in spades. The photogenic qualities are an added bonus.

what do think a Facebook post is? A modern form of letter which can be disseminated to a lot more people.

Dang. I read “forbesian” as four-bezian...and thought it was a new kind of lesbian. I got a little exited.

Sarah Palin may endorse a moderate Republican, which conservatives will lament is a RINO or someone who does not pass the X-ray screening one would get at the airport. Those who are ignorant of the workings of a political campaign must not forget that Sarah Palin is building a coalition of Republican supporters beyond her base of populist-conservatives. She is networking and building an army of fellow patriots who know how to make things happen and will put some oars in the water to bring about history. Where Ronald Reagan brought about the collapse of Communism, Sarah Palin is preparing to bring about the collapse of socialism.

Those who want to put up the X-ray scanners up to Sarah Palin to see if she is clean of any liberal WMDs, would you vote for her anyway? Or, do you bite your leg off to cure yourself of a mosquito bite?

Those who focus on Sarah Palin’s coalition building efforts may be trying to derail this effort. This coalition is now bigger than any of us imagine and too strong to oppose the momentum that it has created.

Sarah Palin will step up her dialog with the American public with her next book, “America By Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag.” It will talk about the patriotism that have influenced the cause of liberty in this country and the world. It will be released November 23, which I would have liked to have seen released before the elections this November. However, it will set the stage for the race to the White House. I believe that Sarah Palin will have been light years ahead of anyone thinking of running. Those who have had thoughts of running will regret that they did not start earlier.

The Left has shown that they willing give up their freedom to those who work to destroy the Right and use those who will spin a dream world of Utopian fantasies and lies. Those in their lust for power see their minions of the Left as useful tools and no more. They fail to understand that Sarah Palin is on to their game of deceit. They also fail to understand that the American public loves Sarah Palin and understands the nature of the Left’s shallow attacks. They have watched how the Left has led this nation down a rabbit hole to a realm that has no reality. Sarah Palin is the anecdote to America’s drift to non reality where nothing works and the America who got man to the Moon is being water boarded in the sewage lies and dysfunction.

Well Mike, apparently you didn't get the memo.
Palin's support for McCain pretty much nullifies any presidential aspirations she has, and voids her 16 years of accomplishments in public office.

Does that include her 2/3rds term as Governor before she quit?

Now let's just shut up and support one of the other potential Republican candidates, whom I sure have used Facebook to speak out against the corrupt Obama administration, have picked winning conservative candidates in primary elections, and can rally conservatives her groupies at the drop of a dime.

Ohhhhhhh FACEBOOK, I'm sure Comrade Zero trembles at the almost 1.7 million people who 'like' her page. (and let's not include the ones giving her Hell about her tilt to RINO-ism).

[/Wicked sarcasm]

Noooo not you Triple-E, sarcastic?

Nah, can't be.

"facebook"

I'm aware of Palin's posts on Facebook. What is your point? The people knocking Palin complain that she doesn't write about conservative philosophy and not specifically that she doesn't comment about current affairs.

Did you complain when she was picked for VP after only 1.5 years in office?

Ohhhhhhh FACEBOOK, I'm sure Comrade Zero trembles at the almost 1.7 million people who 'like' her page.

Let's see, her Facebook pages stopped cap and trade, it nearly derailed Obamacare, and it forced Obama to talk to the BP CEO. Not bad huh?

As a matter of fact I did. My concerns then (which have not been alleviated) were that she did not have the necessary experience to step into the role of Commander-in-Chief in the event that McLame kicked the bucket. Being in charge of the Alaskan National Guard doesn't equate to being ready to step up to commanding the largest and most extensive military machine on the planet Earth.

Yeah, not bad. Just like all those roosters on farms across America that are convinced that if it were not for their crowing every morning, the Sun would fail to come up in the East.

You keep right on with the blind faith Triple-E, it is admirable in a little-kid-trusting-Santa kinda way.

Obama slithered into office partly (mostly?) because of his use of the www.

That combined with the use of the illegal activities of ACORN and their millions of actually illegal votes and the illegal alien criminal insurgent invading colonists’ illegal votes.

Not to mention the democrat lawmakers allowing black panther thugs to chase away conservative voters from polling places with baseball bats.

Facebook has turned into the pretty much premiere place to put up comments if as a politician you wish to have them disseminated widely.

Palin is making good use of that venue as well as other internet linkups.

Ohhhhhhh FACEBOOK

Sarcasm aside, she's been using it to get an unfiltered message out, which is then echoed in the more traditional press, who feel compelled to "report" on it.

She's controlling her message, and bypassing the media filters. And it seems to be working. Let's face it, trusting the media to accurately report (or report at all) what you're saying on their own hook would be the true naivete.

mkjessup, why don’t you shut up or ‘fess up to who your Messiah Conservative of the Universe is?

Let’s see if he - and I’m sure it’s a he - and you, can stand up to the scrutiny of resume comparing and effectiveness proving.

Short of doing that, you are merely tiring...

And nothing more than a cosmic YAWP!

In fact, whenever you post without coming out of the shadows as to your candidate, and I see it (I don’t spend gobs of time here), I shall respond with a cosmic YAWP of my own.

Consider this my inaugural response.

YAWP!

Too bad Steve Forbes lost to W in the primaries, he would have been a much better president, much better.

First of all, I don't shut up for the likes of you, only JimRob if he so requests. So go pound sand.

As for my "Messiah Conservative", it's too early in the game for that. I'm not hitching my support to anybody's wagon at this point, but feel free to join the hordes of Sarah-zombies as they plan her coronation.

Let’s see if he - and I’m sure it’s a he - and you, can stand up to the scrutiny of resume comparing and effectiveness proving.

When I decide upon a candidate to support, you won't be the first to know, as I have no reason to ping you whatsoever.

Short of doing that, you are merely tiring...

A person has to know their limitations, glad to see you know yours.

Whatever gets your rocks off bud.
