I hope that they grab a lawyer immediately, and press charges. Why the lawyer? Because there are undoubtedly crooked local politicians that will try to destroy your case on a technicality if they are tight with the thug. Got to make sure that all the I's are dotted, and T's are crossed.
Charge him they should even if he would succeed in the Article I Section 6 defense - UNLESS they charge him with Breach of the Peace, then it is game over for that congresscritter. Too bad DC is run by RATs or this might just happen.
