TEA PARTY EXPRESS ENDORSES JOE MILLER FOR U.S. SENATE
VOWS TO DEFEAT LISA MURKOWSKI

The Tea Party Express (website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org) is pleased to announce its endorsement of Conservative Republican Joe Miller for U.S. Senate - Alaska.

The Tea Party Express will make Miller's campaign its top priority between now and the August 24th Alaska Primary, and will devote the resources necessary to ensure Miller's victory.

"Lisa Murkowski has become part of the problem in Washington.  Her support for record deficit spending, and her flip-flopping on whether to repeal Obamacare are just two of the many issues in which she has broken trust with the citizens she was elected to represent," said Bryan Shroyer, Political Director for the Tea Party Express.

"The tea party movement is determined to vote out of office some of the worst offenders in both political parties, and Lisa Murkowski has certainly become one of the worst offenders in the GOP," said Amy Kremer, Director of Grassroots & Coalitions for the Tea Party Express.

"Joe Miller is exactly the kind of constitutional conservative we need to help us take our country back," Kremer added.

The Tea Party Express will launch a wave of TV and radio ads supporting Miller, and opposing Murkowski in the coming weeks.  Tea Party Express staff will also be on the ground in Alaska helping to ensure Miller's victory.  The total expenditures by the Tea Party Express in Alaska are expected to reach well into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

"We have a lot of members and supporters in Alaska who are excited to support a true conservative for U.S. Senate.  We're talking about bringing the Tea Party Express buses to Alaska and doing a tour through the state, and if we do we'll certainly invite some of the better known speakers and leaders who have joined with the Tea Party Express in the three national bus tours we've conducted to date," said Amy Kremer.

TEA PARTY EXPRESS ENDORSES JOE MILLER FOR U.S. SENATE
VOWS TO DEFEAT LISA MURKOWSKI

The Tea Party Express has been active in the 2010 election cycle.  This week the group endorsed Conservative Republican Mike Lee's campaign for U.S. Senate in Utah.

The group was a prominent supporter of Scott Brown's campaign for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts, spending more than $350,000 in an Independent Expenditure campaign on his behalf.

Soon thereafter, the Tea Party Express announced a $250,000 campaign to "Defeat Bart Stupak" following his sudden declaration of support for ObamaCare.  The Tea Party Express was traveling through Stupak's district as part of our national bus tour, with 6 tea party rallies taking place in his district when Stupak shocked the political world by announcing that he was retiring from Congress.

The Tea Party Express has similarly spent over $500,000 on our "Defeat Harry Reid" campaign complete with TV, radio and print ads calling for the defeat of the Senate Majority Leader.  And on March 27th the Tea Party Express conducted the high-profile "Showdown in Searchlight" that drew approximately 20,000 tea party activists and Gov. Sarah Palin to the tiny hometown of Senator Reid: Searchlight, NV.

Most recently the Tea Party Express endorsed tea party activist, Conservative Republican Sharron Angle, for U.S. Senate in Nevada.  After spending over $550,000 in the race on her behalf, Angle catapulted from 5% (on April 11th) - with the Tea Party Express endorsement being made on April 15th - to over 40% on Election Day, and winning the GOP primary.  Angle's closest competitor in the 12-candidate field was 14% behind.

The Tea Party Express also previously announced support for Marco Rubio's Senate campaign in Florida - the Republican nominee in the race, and Rand Paul's Senate campaign in Kentucky.  The Tea Party Express also announced its targets for defeat, including Arlen Specter for Senate in Pennsylvania and Alan Mollohan for Congress in West Virginia.  Both candidates were defeated in their respective primaries.

The Tea Party Express is perhaps best known for the three national Tea Party Express bus tours that we have organized, with well over 100 tea party rallies taking place as part of these tours.  The rallies have drawn several hundred thousand participants and featured the likes of Gov. Sarah Palin, Joe The Plumber, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, conservative author and pundit, Ann Coulter, Congressman Joe Wilson, and many others.

Sarah Palin already endorsed Miller.

The kiss of success, if recent elections are any indication.

Thanks for the bump.

Oh TPX’s timing is quite timely.

They seem to like Palin, but don't follow her around to check who they should support and when they should endorse candidates.

Most of us know that Palin endorsed Miller, good call on her part!

Thanks for the link to Miller's website, Jen!

Here's his statement thanking Plain for the endorsement and His Bio:

Miller Responds to Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's Endorsement

"I am thrilled that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has chosen to endorse my campaign for the United States Senate. We share the belief that our nation is at a crucial juncture. It is time for true change away from the long discredited notion that Big Government knows best and back towards our Constitutional moorings, rooted in individual freedom and personal responsibility. I look forward to getting this message out to the people of Alaska and, with their support, taking these values to Washington."

Biographical Information:

Joe Miller is an Alaskan by choice. He grew up in a working class family in Kansas, and headed to the Last Frontier sixteen years ago because of his love for the outdoors. After graduating from law school, Miller accepted a position at a prestigious law firm in Anchorage. He quickly mastered the law and three years later, at the age of 30, he was appointed as a State Magistrate (the youngest then serving in Alaska) as well as a Superior Court Master for the Fourth Judicial District. Further honors followed four years later when Miller was appointed an Acting State District Court Judge and, shortly thereafter, U.S. Magistrate Judge in Fairbanks. Again, he had the distinction of being the youngest then serving in that federal position, not only in the state, but also in the entire nation. He was also the only judge in the United States, at that time, serving at both the federal and state levels simultaneously. In 2004, Miller stepped down from the bench to run for State Representative. He overwhelmingly won the contested Republican primary and nearly pulled off an upset in the general election receiving over 48% of the vote against the Democratic incumbent in a traditionally Democratic district: the closest re-election campaign the officeholder has ever faced. Joe returned to the successful full time practice of law at his own firm. He has represented clients in a wide variety of cases, a number of which have gone all the way to the Alaska Supreme Court.

Prior to becoming an attorney and a judge, Miller served as an officer in the United States Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his leadership in combat during the First Gulf War. He received his commission from West Point, where he graduated with honors. Joe is also a graduate of Yale Law School and holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Alaska.

Joe currently lives with his family in Fairbanks where he practices law. His wife of 18 years, Kathleen, is a teacher and serves on the Alaska Judicial Council, a commission that makes recommendations to the Governor concerning Alaska judicial nominees.

"We're talking about bringing the Tea Party Express buses to Alaska and doing a tour through the state,"

LOLOL! Let's see... that will be Anchorage/Valdez/Fairbanks. Put the buses on the ferry, go to Juneau, put the buses on the ferry, go to Ketchikan, put the buses on the ferry, go to Wrangell, put the buses on the ferry, go to Sitka. If they want to go to Deadhorse, well, they COULD drive the haul road (Dempster), I guess. A C130 would help for trips to Bethel, Nome, Dillingham, etc.

Oh great the schedule has leaked out.

The coolest part will be when the Ice Road Truckers escort the buses up to Prudhoe Bay!

Better. But even since I grew up in the 60s, I have been a little leery of guys with beards. I will make an exception in this case though.

You wouldn’t like Alaska, then. Facial hair on most of the men and some of the women. Protects from frostbite in the winter.

I guess you’ve never heard of the Mat-Su?

Something like 80% of OUR population lives in Southcentral Alaska.

As to the outlying communities and villages we’ll do it like Alaskans always do it by air and by sea also.

Don’t worry we Alaskans KNOW how to live and work in Alaska.

Btw: I was happy when Governor Palin joined us who were already supporting Joe by endorsing Joe and we welcome the Tea party to uh well the “party”.

Lisa “my daddy gave me this job” Murkowski is part of the PROBLEM not part of the solution.

It will be an uphill battle for sure but at least we have an actual choice for a change.

“The coolest part will be when the Ice Road Truckers escort the buses up to Prudhoe Bay!”

FYI, Prudoe Bay is a bay, not a town.

The general area is known as the “north slope”.

“Deadhorse” is the name of the town.

Thanks I didn't say it was a town

What made you think it was?

Thanks for the other information.

The Ice Road Truckers will take them to Prudhoe bay because that is where they are going. The North Slope.

The buses have to follow the truckers so as not to get lost!

You're probably right. I was raised in Miami, FL. Never did get used to the frigid northern climes. But Facial hair on the women?
