Sarah Palin tweets ‘Rahm, you lie’ after chief of staff’s comments on ABC

Sarah Palin called White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel a liar on Twitter yesterday, saying his comments on ABC’s “This Week” make him shallow, narrow-minded, political and irresponsible.

The former governor of Alaska is apparently outraged over Emanuel telling ABC’s Jake Tapper on Sunday that Republican Rep. Joe Barton’s apology last week to BP was not a slip of the tongue, but a reflection of the “philosophy” of the Republican Party.

“That’s not a political gaffe, those are prepared remarks,” Emanuel said. “That is a philosophy.”

Emanuel added: “They see the aggrieved party here as BP, not the fishermen and the communities down there affected.”

Palin tweeted Sunday afternoon that, “RahmEmanuel= as shallow/narrowminded/political/irresponsible as they come, to falsely claim Barton’s BP comment is ‘GOP philosophy’ Rahm,u lie.”

Putting BP aside for the moment, Republicans SHOULD be concerned as a matter of political philosophy whenever the Government bypasses established statutory procedures to punish corporations. BP royally screwed up. But it is not ok for Obama to circumvent the law to punish BP. When Obama DOES circumvent the law, it is OK for Republicans to apologize for his unlawful actions. It is in keeping with Obama’s penchant to apologize to the rest the world for all of American’s perceived oppression.

I still don't know what Barton needs to apologize for.

Nothing. It will be just like Joe Wilson calling little bammy a liar to his face. He will (was) be condemned loudly by all the butt smoochers and in very short order Mr. Barton will be proven absolutely correct.

What is really great about this is the communists that call themselves democrats and the RINO’s NEVER learn from previous screw-ups of this exact nature and will once again wake up looking like the idiots they are.

Barton was wrong to apologize to BP for anything.

He also was a fool for giving Zero so much credit for pulling off a "shakedown." Betcha BP got some goodies Rahm isn't talking about for it's 20 billion. We'll see in the coming days as the leaks come.

Did Rep. Barton actually direct his apology to BP, or did he offer an apology, to whomever it may concern, for the thuggish conduct of the President?
It is a shakedown, an act for which the Office of President does not, IMO, confer legal authority, and very likely the proceeds will be apportioned in such ways as to benefit Obama’s political allies, just as previous shakedowns of taxpayers have been designed to benefit labor unions.
