Texas GOP platform: criminalize gay marriage and ban sodomy, outlaw strip clubs and pornography
New York Daily News ^ | June 23, 2010 | Aliyah Shahid

The Texas Republican Party gives a whole new meaning to the word conservative.

The GOP there has voted on a platform that would ban oral and anal sex. It also would give jail sentences to anyone who issues a marriage license to a same-sex couple (even though such licenses are already invalid in the state).

“We oppose the legalization of sodomy,” the platform says. “We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.”

In addition, the platform says that homosexuality “tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.”

It also states that homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in public schools and “family” should not be redefined to include homosexual couples.

That’s the folks. If the folks in a state want this and vote for it, so long as nothing infringes upon ACTUAL (as opposed to judically made up) Constitutional rights, that’s the way it goes.

The more states can find their own distinctives, the sooner the federal beast will begin feeling the pinch.

Yes, I meant to comment that this sounded seriously fake, but got off first on the liberty issue. Thanks for the link.

The one I proposed was far harsher and demanded the shunning of any who think they “know better” or believe the pernicious lie that “people are basically good”.

It was not taken into consideration, but it was proposed...

“people are basically good”.

Look at the world around you and that will be quickly disproven.

The people who believe the pernicious lie aren’t looking at the world around them - they want to believe THEMSELVES to be “good people”,

so they often espouse ideologies that affirm their own “goodness”.

These people are liberals.

“Texas GOP platform: criminalize gay marriage and ban sodomy, outlaw strip clubs and pornography”

If that is what the GOP voters of Texas want, then I fail to see why this is news.

What is equally appalling are the spectators in the background.

They are just as sick, sick, sick.

And I wonder how many took their children with them to see this.

Good for Texas. I hope the law passes.

Muslim named Aliyah Shahid trashes conservative Christians. Big surprise.

At least she's not wearing a burqa.

The document the Mooselimb author found is apparently this PDF, found on texastribune.org. When I went there to see what it's about, it attempted to steal my Google password by means of an IFRAME hack.

Sodomy laws become a little bit less appealing when one realises that sodomy does not mean homosexuality. The old sodomy laws criminalised a whole range of non-reproductive sex acts, including oral sex, and even married couples didn’t get a pass.

If you really want to bring all that stuff back - with all the possibility of governmental mischief that it entails - then you go out and tell people about it, and then ask them to vote conservative. Good luck with that.

The proposed law wouldn’t stop tacky spectacles like this - no sodomy was committed in the street!

What it WOULD do is make events like this even more common as it would increase homosexuals’ sense of grievance.

Be careful what you wish for. There are a million things that liberal nazis would LOVE to ban - all for the good of society, you understand!

Sigh, that is a (vulgar disrespectful term deleted) ugly pic but I do prefer my conservatism on the libertarian side. Glad I don’t live in Texas I guess.

A) You need to research the term "sodomy" Its root is the term "sodomite" referring to the biblical reference to Sodom and Gomorrah..

B) You need to research this nations "sodomy laws" they were on the books here in the good old USA from day one...

C) Freedom and liberty were never intended to be a trophy for perversion, degeneracy and moral insanity. Perhaps the "sodomites" should move to France, Spain, Sweden or some other sodomite friendly locale where they grant credence to morally insane perverts and degenerates.

Really? LMAO Obviously you've never learned what goes on at theose events.

How do you think that type of behavior would get on the streets of Philadelphia back in the days of the founders?!? Perverts didn't act any such way back then, they'd be locked in a set of stocks and tarred and feathered..

Something like this hasn't been said in such a long time, I was absolutely stunned to read it. And I mean this in the best way possible. Society has been cowed by the liberal anarchists for so long, we no longer know how to fight back.

I hope they put everything they've got behind this statement.

Hint: Fiscal and social liberals are of the SAME SUBSTANCE.

Focusing on sodomy with all we’re going through seems to be the height of stupidity IMO.

If good people don't focus on "it," the homo-nazis will capitalize on it - they're in the Capital doing it right now with Øbama's blessing.

Such stupidity, Libertarianism.
