What we're "going through" is BECAUSE of our ignoring cultural matters.
Really? I thought it was because we have a bunch of people who require governmental assistance just to take a leak.
Do you honestly think that a house that doesn't have it's moral foundation in order can have a sound economic foundation?
No, I just don't think it requires the government to do such.

C) Freedom and liberty were never intended to be a trophy for perversion, degeneracy and moral insanity. Perhaps the "sodomites" should move to France, Spain, Sweden or some other sodomite friendly locale where they grant credence to morally insane perverts and degenerates.
Close your eyes and you can almost picture a Mudslum saying this.

I don't have to use any imagination at all to see you as a leftist alinsky disciple equating conservatives with muslims..

If you say so. To me self-righteousness is one of the most irritating aspects of a liberal, personally.

Pinging both lists to a proposed GOP platform, not accepted, not engraved in stone. The discussion generated from this is very interesting. On one hand, there are the liberaltarians who think that if only government does border control and I guess weights and measures and lets all other laws drop into oblivion, we will live in a wonderful world where everyone can be privately engaged in wahtever they want and be left alone. And no one will bother anyone and everyone can watch porn, practice sodomy, do drugs, and live happily ever after. Or at least have the peace of mind that comes with knowing you CAN do those things if you want. Or something.

The reality is that a population which does not value moral behavior is a population which soon sinks into anarchy and chaos.

And what happens when there is anarchy and chaos? Why, the boot heel of Jack Booted Thuggery, that's what! As inevitable as night follows day.

The juvenile fantasy that an immoral population can live in peace and harmony is just that - a comic book adolescent day dream.

There’s a vast difference between being self-righteous and aspiring for actual righteousness.

Apparently you do not understand this.

Limited Government
A government that promotes policies to unlock individual potential and unleash economic growth. Government that does not try to be all things to all people.

Honest Compassion
A society assisting those in need rather than a government trying to solve every problem by just throwing more money at it.

Opportunity For All

Quality Education
An educational system that prepares children for tomorrow’s workplace regardless of race, wealth or geographical location. Education is the bedrock of freedom and the gateway to opportunity.

Freedom that is God given, affirmed by our Founding Fathers, articulated in the Declaration of Independence, and protected by the Constitution.

Rugged Individualism
The entrepreneurial spirit of the individual that continues to solidify Texas as a world economic
power.

So you seriously want to outlaw strip clubs? To me that is ignorant Mudslum territory.

The only reason why strip clubs and porn are legal is because of Larry Flynt (not exactly a prince among men) teaming up with the ACLU - an evil organization if there ever was one.

Local community standards be damned.

When strip clubs and porn are illegal, they stay in the back alleys and dark shadows where they belong. Same thing with sodomy.

The stupid argument that gov will be in peoples’ bedrooms is a homo-agenda and libertaltarian talking point lie.

It keeps filth in private where it belongs and out of the public square, where it does not belong. And out of the public rest areas, bathrooms, beaches, parks and Main Street.

How about local community standards?

In my very small town a porn shop opened. The town didn’t want it, there was a petition signed, town meetings with something like 90% opposed. It’s right on the main street and kids walk past on their way to and from school.

But there is a state law saying that no one can stop a porn store from operating. That’s it. Of course, I live in lovely leftist OR where live sex shows are legal.

Why do you want strip clubs and porn legal? I do not want them legal, and I think if put to the people, many communities would not want them legal either. They weren’t legal until a couple of generations ago. Only very recently was the “right” to porn and strip clubs “found” in the Constitution. Along with the “right” to kill unborn babies.

Hopefully for Texas sodomites and friends will boycott them. Wouldn’t it be wonderful! Need to move to Texas, looks like. Maybe Texas will yet become it’s own nation!

What about 'em? I happen to like boobies and am suspicious of any "man" who doesn't.

How about zoning?
But there is a state law saying that no one can stop a porn store from operating. That’s it. Of course, I live in lovely leftist OR where live sex shows are legal.
Ok, but how about someone who happens to like such establishments? Why do your morals supersede mine?

Because I like strip clubs and porn? Heh, i'd be a hypocrite in wanting something I like illegal, as many bible belters are. You should get together with your lib buddies and outlaw toilet paper, meat, internal combustion engines, and other "harmful" things. You'd make a great team. Outlaw all fun.

Seems like a workable plan. It gets somewhat trickier when two homosexuals, in the privacy of their own home, want to adopt a child, which to my way of thinking, is criminal child abuse.

It is to my way of thinking also. And I'm willing to be called a "homophobe" by my libertarian compatriots for that position. (shrugs) Oh, well.

Ideally, I'd prefer to see adoption law follow the Biblical model -- which is to try to place the orphan within the extended family, to the maximum extent possible. Also the tradition of the Godfather would be a great tradition to resurrect (I'm a godfather myself) -- there are some excellent Church, Family, and other such Non-Governmental solutions to some of these problems.

Admittedly, there might be a few "gay uncles" in some families who might come up on the docket, but at least that way you avoid the problem of homosexuals specifically hunting for children to adopt.

There would be details to be worked out; but I think when we start with the Biblical model, we're at least working from good general principles.
