Salazar's Ban Is Soros' Bonanza

Energy Policy: Our interior secretary plans to reinstate the offshore drilling moratorium struck down by a federal judge. But if deep-water drilling is so unsafe, why are we helping Brazil drill nearly three times as deep?

Maybe Secretary Ken Salazar can explain why Britain and others can safely drill in the North Sea and no other nation has suspended its offshore drilling. Yet there he was Tuesday saying he'll reissue a reworded moratorium that will make it clear to dunces like U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman why offshore drilling is unsafe.

As with health care reform and other issues, the administration's position is that we didn't make it clear enough, so we will speak slower and use smaller words. But double talk is double talk no matter how you rearrange the words.

"The decision to impose a moratorium on deep-water drilling was and is the right decision," Salazar said, even after he was caught rewording a report so a team of experts he assembled would look like they supported the moratorium, when in fact, they adamantly opposed it and thought it would do more harm than the Deepwater Horizon spill itself.

"If some drilling equipment parts are flawed, is it rational to say all are?" Feldman asked in his ruling. "Are all airplanes a danger because one was? All oil tankers like Exxon Valdez? All trains? All mines?

"That sort of thinking seems heavy-handed, and rather overbearing." Not for an administration and its environmentalist supporters whose collective goal is not to drill safely, but to drill not at all, at least not here.

Just follow the money — the “green” money. If the environmentalists were not frothing lefties supported by Washington lefties who want their money and votes, it would be an entirely different story. We would be nearly oil-independent, a wealthier nation, and probably have plenty of cheap nuclear electrical power RIGHT NOW.

But....quite the opposite and getting worse.

Personally, I would not test this judge with another voodoo report. Hopefully, Salazar is stupid enough to try. I think there is enough already for the Judge to order a Justice Department investigation.

We’re going to end our dependence on foreign oil by cutting domestic supplies. :)

just like Oregon & NJ.

intelligent people aren’t allowed to pump their own gas in Oregon or NJ.

everyone’s fully capable of pumping their own gas in other states...just not Oregon & NJ.

why?

government says so...and that’s what counts.

in Oregon and NJ, the state decrees that people are too stupid to pump their own gas.

in the US, 0bama has decreed that what’s routinely done elsewhere, can’t be done here...because he’s decreed it.

our govt at work......

As well as making a left turn in Jersey ... ohhh that's a no-no for sure ... they'd really throw the book if you pumped your own gas and then made a left turn out of the gas station .....

/partial sarc off

Just as the oil shale business was starting to reawaken, Salazar got a “moratorium” rammed through as Colorado senator and then later as head of Interior.

We’ve got enough oil shale to keep us going into the next millenium, but not as long as the Obamists are in power.

I always said that the enviros were shills for OPEC, and they are. Until recently it didn’t occur to me that it was more than just OPEC. Obama’s inner circle are Sorosians. He bought the DNC and he intends to get value for money invested.

Yeah, I know, there’s always that twit, Still, I would like to see him order it. I keep in mind that a Federal Judge has pretty broad powers. He can order the investigation, and if necessary, he can ask questions directly from the bench of people involved.

Just can not figure 1- why this shitehead is allowed in the USA and 2 - why he is still consuming O2 and not assuming room temp. Soros is clearly an enemy of America.

Where is the WSJ with this?

Where are the Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida senators and reps? Are they collectively too stupid to put the puzzle pieces together OR, are they on the take also??? Are they all afraid of Soros???

We need another PJTV or other viral video that has something so catchy it can’t be ignored...someone has to expose Soros, Petrobras, the sandbars and dredging, the barges, the booms, etc.

There’s absolutely no reason to stop deepwater offshore drilling off the US coast. To prevent future oil spills, the administration only needs to kick BP out of America forever. BP is the one and only inept and stupidly managed deepwater driller in the entire industry. The US government should tell BP to stop the flow of oil from the well immediately, clean up the mess, sell all of it’s US assets, and get out of here forever. And out of an abundance of caution, also establish improved safety and environmental standards and let the rest of the industry resume deepwater drilling within 30 days. That’s a reasonable and prudent policy for both energy independence and environmental protection.

Petrobras is drilling off the coast of Brazil without any environmental problems, in even tougher conditions than BP encountered in the Gulf of Mexico. If they can drill safely in deep water, then so can we.

Why does Salazar still have a job? BP and the Feds knew about the leak back in February.
