Moran is a pain to work with.
When I was active, as an officer in the Kansas Republican Party, Moran NEVER helped raise money for the Party or for other Candidates.
Moran ALWAYS had HIS hand out, for money, however!

Moran also got in the way when conservatives tried to take over the precincts, in his Congressional District.

Moran wanted the Court House hacks and the moderates to run the Republican Party.

Moran IS a RINO!

Moran is not a movement conservative.

Moran is not a Reagan conservative.

With my own ears, I heard Moran use the term “wingers” to describe the Conservatives in control of the Kansas Republican Party, at the time of the Bob Dole Convention in San Diego.

Moran is NOT our friend.

"McCain endorses Moran over Tiahrt"

"Rep. Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) received a big-name endorsement from John McCain today, giving him a boost as he faces a competitive primary against Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kansas)."

I believe that McCain was the early leader on endorsing Moran, we'll see how that turns out.

This post reminds me I have to get the Tiahrt stickers put on my vehicles.

My view of the race is that Moran isn't so bad, but he does aggravate me from time to time with his "reach out to the other side of the aisle" frame of mind.

Tiahrt, on the other hand, is from the class of 1994. He has been a reliable conservative ever since and gets my vote.

Thanks Dan!
Get some yard signs and get those out, in your area, as well!

The Tiahrt HDQRTS is in the old “law school” office downtown, on South Market and English, I believe. That would be 123 S. Market. There is a keypad, outside, hit the button and they will come downstairs and let you in!

And what's wrong with McCain? After all, Palin endorsed him so he's got to be a true conservative, right? Right?

Yes, I’m sure Tiahrt is just as conservative as McCain and Fiorina is.

Moran will be the next Senator from the state of Kansas. Thank God.

You seem agitated about McCain being a supporter of your moderate candidate, I don’t why it would bother you, or any other Moran supporter.

No, merely pointing out that given her track record, Palin's endorsement does not mean that Tiahrt is the more conservative of the two. And in fact I do not believe he is. I've supported Moran from the get-go. I believe with all my heart he is by far the better candidate. I am convinced that he will be the next Senator from Kansas. And given her history of endorsing RINOs, Palin's announcement is no reason for me to change my mind.

Palin doesn’t have a history of supporting rinos, she has a history of supporting the most conservative viable candidate, and knocking off worst case rinos like Trey Grayson and Tom Campbell from their front runner pedestals, I think that is what she is courageously attempting in Kansas.

Senator John McCain is Moran’s most prominent endorsement and I notice that you keep leaving him off of the list of Moran endorsements.

You are a liberal, based on your posts of the past.

You want the least conservative candidate to win.

There is, absolutely, NO conservative reason to oppose Tiahrt, in his race against Moran.

You are a fool, based on your posts of the past.

You want the least conservative candidate to win.

I want the more conservative candidate to win, which is why I'm backing Moran.

There is, absolutely, NO conservative reason to oppose Tiahrt, in his race against Moran.

And I suppose you would also say that there is, absolutely, NO conservative reason to oppose McCain? Or that there was, absolutely, NO conservative reason to oppose Fiorina? You fair weather conservatives make me laugh.

Ah, so you feel the need to qualify that do you? You support conservatives if they are viable, and go RINO if in your opinion they are not. So much for standing on principles.

Well, Palin struck out twice on this one. Moran is going to win. And Moran is the more conservative of the two.

You are aware, are you not:

McCain has endorsed Moran!

So, you attack McCain, yet you have no worry that McCain and YOU are on the same side, in this contest?

And as I said, how bad can McCain be in your eyes if Palin endorsed him? You're ripping the very man that St. Sarah thinks is the best person to represent Arizona in the Senate.

I think it's going to take a lot more than Palin's endorsement for Tiahrt to win. People like DeMint and Coburn and Tancredo have come out for him.

Unbelievable.

Coburn endorsed Fiorino and he was an early endorser of McCain in the last presidential cycle. DeMint endorsed Linsey Graham and was Lindey's campaign manager against a more conservative primary challenger. DeMint also was an early endorser of Mitt in the last presidential election cycle.

No, I always select from the real candidates that are viable, I’m not interested in writing in my own name, or other fantasy candidates, in every election.

In almost every election there are people that are more conservative than the real candidates, I suppose you are one of those that votes for Alan Keyes or such, in every presidential cycle.

Your guy has won Senator McCain’s endorsement as the better choice over Tiahrt, Moran is a guy that in most descriptions that I see, comes off as the more moderate.

Palin has seen the polls and is making a daring move for what she sees as the more conservative of the two.

“NO conservative reason to oppose Fiorina?”

Tom Campbell was the solid front runner in that race and was breezing to victory, Palin’s endorsement only days before the voting started, bumped Campbell to a second place finish.

“Campbell supports abortion rights and gay marriage, and argues that Boxer’s greatest asset against either of his two Republican opponents, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, would be the state’s decidedly un-conservative social views.

“She has always been able to move the debate over to the social issues. She will not be able to do that against me,” Campbell told POLITICO.”

“During the campaign for U.S. Senate in 2000, Campbell touted his 100 percent pro-choice voting record. He opposed a ban on “partial birth’ abortions, one of the most horrific abortion practices. (”Conservatives Agonize Backing Campbell,” Roll Call, August 7, 2000.)

Campbell in 1992 made abortion the center stage of his campaign. In the 1992 election, Campbell’s TV ad ran with the following caption: “For choice, for jobs, for U.S. Senate.” In another ad, he said, “I’m pro-choice and one of the most conservative members of Congress when it comes to spending.”In a Republican debate, he described his abortion views, as good for voters “looking for someone who is willing to break with the party line from time to time.” (Gerry Braun, “Herschensohn Won’t Pledge to Back GOP Pick; Senate Opponents Renew Acrimony in Last Debate,” San Diego Union Tribune, June 1, 1992.)
