Legislation could include a carbon cap on utility companies.
With the gulf oil spill creating political opportunity, Senate Democrats will begin crafting a sweeping energy bill this week that could include a first-ever, though more modest, cap on global-warming pollution.
Republicans dismiss such a cap-and-trade system as a new tax on households and business — "cap-and-tax," they call it.

They know that once a tax is passed by the federal government it is rarely repealed. The carbon tax, higher marginal income tax rates, a VAT, and higher inheritance taxes are the “answer” to the deficit in their minds. Plus these taxes facilitate their plans to equalize the masses by destroying what is left of the middle class.
Energy prices will rise. This is thanks to the person elected by millions of brain-numbed robots who marched to the polls in lockstep singing “first black president.”
See, this is why I suspect the BP spill was allowed to happen. How convenient this spill occurs just at the beginning of summer when the heat goes up and now this. Just the same way millions of people were dying everyday because of a lack of insurance and now we hear nothing. Even though Obie care won’t kick in till 2014 somehow all those folks are okay now. It’s all bullshit and frankly really, REALLY pissing me off. I’ve always wondered what it was like to be one of the original Patriots back in the 1700’s. I’ve always dreamed about what would I do to help preserve freedom. Willing, able and ready. On my feet before I am on my knees. Always ! Death is a liberation if I am destined to live like a slave.

I see how this works, Cap & Tax now, pardon for half of the illegal Aliens now (visa violators) then full amnesty and fast track path to citizenship for all in the lamest duck session after the November election. Hoping to salvage 2012 for Obama.

This is Cloward–Piven strategy to the max - as soon as they got into office it was clear - Dim WH & congressional control - thanks to our rinos - they’ve got “healthcare”, wall street, the auto industry, soon “big oil”, cap & tax, card check, amnesty, union pension bail-outs, etc., etc.
Even with huge 2010 gains this will be tough to dismantle - once in place gubmint programs NEVER go away. ;-(
