As many as 150 insurgent fighters have been killed since Sunday in a major offensive involving about 700 U.S. and Afghan troops along eastern Afghanistan's border with Pakistan, a senior military official confirmed to Fox News early Tuesday.
The U.S.-led operation was one of the largest yet in the region, officials told The Washington Post, who described the assault as "one of the most intense battles of the past year."

A soldier with restrictive ROE can overreact and accidently shoot someone, and then go on trial accused of murder....
..but a UAV can wipe out AQ or taliban figure, along with “collateral damage”,..and things are hunky dory....

...sorry, i forgot,..in regard to the UAV decimation, you have to throw in a few asalom alaikums with a bow at the waist,...THEN,..things are hunky dory.

That's also why drones are highly effective.They are stealthy, they hit and move out before the Tangos can do anything about it. Regular Army is a sitting target, spread out too thinly, deployed in no mans land surrounded by the enemy, who simply pick away at then and their lines of supply just as in Viet Nam.,p> The dems do not know how to wage war, they have to manhy goals besides victory. IMHO the regular army in Afghanistan should be deployed along the Pakistan border, with the SF destroying every Tango strong hold they can find in the interior of Afghanistan at their backs, using their previously successful tactics.
And yes, take off those silly troop killing community organizing ROEs, win the war and GTH home.
