DARWIN'S prostitutes and local ladies have been busy trying to keep pace with the swell of cute, horny US seamen on our shores.
But they must be more than capable because at least one chemist is reporting low condom stocks and a number of Navy blokes asking about Viagra.
USS Peleliu and USS Pearl Harbor have docked at Fort Hill Wharf and unleashed hundreds of young, well-cut and hot-to-trot sailors.
Ship rules mean no sex on board - beyond what's on offer in a magazine. Michelle Love, who operates Blondies in Darwin, said her 30 girls had been kept busy servicing the Yankees. But she said the increase in US clients had been offset by a temporary slide of local customers - suspected of either being jealous or considerate.
"Most of the local boys don't even call when the boats are in town. They probably think the girls are busy and worn out or they may get their noses out of joint," she said.
Ms Love said the US boys were never any problems - "they treat the girls like gold".
She said the only possible issue was competition from the amateurs.
"Every horny woman comes out of the woodwork," she said. "But there's enough to go around."
Taxi drivers are also enjoying a business boom. They've reported dropping off lusty groups at hotels who use rooms for short periods.
A Darwin driver delivered two ladies for a rendezvous with Navy sorts yesterday.
"One told me, 'Oh honey, I might call you later to pick me up again - I got a couple of jobs'," the driver said. "She said she can make up to $4000 a day because she's so busy."
A chemist assistant in Darwin's CBD reported a spike in condom sales yesterday.

The Aussie women appreciate the American men in uniform more than some Americans do.
“Every horny woman comes out of the woodwork.”
Guess she’s never been to a country-western bar in the States.
“I wonder how the story will read after repeal of DADT?”
There will be Plenty of Hustlers to service the Poofters.
I'm guessing most of that is actually at night.
That and semen and seamen are different
Obama would pronounce it “SeaSmen”.
Go Team USA!
Well there ain’t much else to do in Darwin now is there? Box jellies and salt water crocs make land based..er..recreation more appealing.
Because it is usually far better value than the 'free' stuff.
As an old friend who is both a boater and airplane pilot (and twice divorced) says, 'If it flys, floats, or F****" the better deal is to rent it, not buy it." ;~))
I’ve read articles that referred to someone who got arrested as being a Navy Officer. To me, that means either a warrant officer, or Ensign on up. Then further reading reveals it was a Petty Officer. Sheesh.
Call for Mamie Stover...Call for Mamie Stover...pick up the white courtesy phone....
(By the way, you owe me a keyboard.)
***Guess shes never been to a country-western bar in the States.***
And the men I work with who pick up girls there always get crabs and clap!
Sounds like they need to select a better grade of skank!

Hey! I may have flown with that guy.
As an airline pilot of some 20+ years, the guys that “buy it” have seldom been married only twice. Most “real” airline pilots have been through at least five marital cycles by the time they approach retirement. Are you sure he’s really an airline pilot?
As a perpetual victim of the air transport industry, I’m still working on my first marriage (but many have called me an underachiever because of it). Do you suppose that it could be as simple as having never invested in rental services? We may have stumbled onto something here.
This is no way to run a business.
If you don't know enough to hire temps during the busy season, you shouldn't complain when there's too much to handle.
So to speak.
Perhaps we are the only two who find this thread very disheartening.
