Nevada's republican provocateur

Sometimes provocative people become that way because they were provoked. Sharron Angle, 60, could be enjoying the 10 grandchildren she loves even more than her .44 magnum. Instead, she is the Republican nominee against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's quest for a fifth term. Her campaign began, in a sense, three decades ago, when a judge annoyed her.

When her son was depressed about having to repeat kindergarten ("He was a 6-year-old dropout") she decided on home schooling, which Nevada law permitted. But a judge construed the law to require that parents who home school must live at least 50 miles from a public school.

She and many kindred spirits descended on Carson City to get the Legislature to correct this. One legislator, irritated by such grass-roots impertinence, said, "If I'd known there would be 500 people here instead of 50 and it would take five hours instead of 30 minutes, I would have thrown it [the legislation] in my drawer and it would never have seen the light of day." Angle asked a cowboy standing next to her, "Can he do that?" The cowboy said yep. She has been politically incandescent ever since

Maybe but she better not count on the GOP establishment for any help. They will run like Rats from her good ideas.

I didn’t know she was so old; this is a two or three term senator at best. Good luck though and I hope the GOP is cultivating a solid farm team.

I saw on Fox yesterday that the NRA may endorse Reid.

Reid argues that Nevada now needs his Washington potency more than ever.

Yeah, how's that Washington potency working out for Nevadans, with 14% unemployment and nation-leading foreclosures?

Two terms of Sharron Angle beats the heck out of any more time for Harry Reid, period.

Firstly, where is it written that anyone need serve a lifetime inside the Beltway?

Secondly, the real Pubbie Farm is an aroused citizenry. That ‘farm team’ is aware, active, and enduring.

I have already sent the NRA a letter detailing my reasons for canceling my membership. Reid might support gun rights but he supports Pelosi, Obama, Kagan and a host of others that do not support gun rights. A vote for Reid is a vote for Kagan and another Sotomayor.

The entire panel on Morning Joe this morning said that Reid was breaking ahead. Hope it’s not true.

I guess at this point I still equate “Nevada Senator” with “Laxalt”. I wish we could find more candidates of his stature and ability.

Eh, the “farm team” in my mind are people who are capable, accomplished and have the ability to make a difference.

The TEA Party and 912 people are, in effect, a political grand jury, charged with separating the Constitutionalists from the commies. Continuing with the analogy, ID’ing candidates is akin to acquitting or indicting them for the voters who are the political jury which will render a verdict in November.

Let’s “Deem them defeated” this November!
