Louisiana’s Health Department has reported 128 cleanup workers who have been sickened.
State clinics are telling us something else as well, that cleanup workers are being told to report to BP’s own health clinic on Grand Isle, not to go to state facilities.

You are kidding right? They won’t allow them to wear protective equipment because of “how it looks”.
You get the error message ("connection was reset") that makes it look like it didn't get through.

Isn’t it odd that the Federal government in the form of the Coast Guard, EPA, OSHA and Dept of Homeland Security is constantly second guessing and preventing prevention and clean up efforts by Louisiana and Mississippi but BP can pretty much do whatever it wants without government oversight. BP = large campaign contributor to 0bama 2008 and LA and MS voted for McCain. Just saying.
Yes, as other have said. BP has paid to set up field medical facilities with people trained in oil spill cleanup illnesses and injuries.
So it is no conspiracy to have the injured and sick go to these facilities rather than some public facility where BP doesn’t have medical coverage.
It’s also perfectly normal for nosy reporters to be told to stay 60 feet from operating cleanup vehicles, so they don’t cause accidents.

Wouldn’t trust anything by Sanjay Gupta — Obama was going to make him US Surgeon General than Gupta declined supposedly due to family commitments. No matter his medical qualifications, he obviously is an Obama man and anti-corporations/business with his statement implying BP is trying to hide something.
Regarding the crux of the story, it makes more sense for workers to go to a facility which has all the tools and equipment to diagnose and treat oil spill-related symptoms than to any number of other facilities. I don’t see anything sinister here.
Having said that, fumes from thick oil can cause headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Most symptoms can be prevented with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) especially air purifying respirators which remove organic fumes. Usually symptoms disappear if the worker is removed to a fresh air environment for several hours or maybe a day.
I'm sure that BP realizes that anyone involved will forever be tied to this. People getting any illness whatsoever in the next 40 years will be able to sue.
The hospitals are not qualified to treat them, so why go there? BP’s clinics are staffed with the best experts.

A more likely explanation is that BP's Grand Isle location is staffed with people specially trained to diagnose and treat chemical exposures. Most state hospitals do not have people with such expertise, but the clinics of all the major petrochem plants do.
Maybe BP is trying to stop any medical evidence that might be used in a trial... they are almost as corrupt and evil as obama.
