The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will propose a resolution this week condemning racism within the tea party movement.
The resolution, scheduled for a vote as early as Tuesday by delegates attending the annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, calls upon all people of good will to repudiate the racism of the Tea Parties, and to stand in opposition to its drive to push our country back to the pre-civil rights era.
NAACP leaders said the resolution was necessary to make people aware of what they believe is a racist element within the tea party movement.
Among the charges lodged against the tea party in the resolution:
Tea party supporters have engaged in explicitly racist behavior and displayed signs and posters intended to degrade people of color generally and President Barack Obama specifically.
Tea party activists have used racial epithets, have verbally and physically abused black members of Congress and others, and have been charged with threatening public officials.
Tea party supporters also have a distorted view of race relations, the resolution says, citing poll data that found that 25 percent believe that the Obama administrations policies favor blacks over whites, and 52 percent believe that too much has been made of the problems facing black people, compared with 28 percent of the general population.

Obama's policies have done nothing to help the economic plight of Blacks. Screaming 'racist' is the only card left for the Democrats to play for the Black community because their promises of a better economy under Obama have been proven to be lies.

Hey NAALCP... Look in a mirror.
The NAACP is on it’s face a racist organization. The paid leaders and all the various volunteers are in fact professional racists.
The NAACP should be abolished.
Pretty funny, coming from an association that is based solely on race.
The very concept for an organization for ‘the advancement of colored people’ is racist.
Martin Luther King would disown them.
The pot calling the kettle white?
“Whaddaya mean, the Black Pampers are racist? They’re black! They can’t be racist!”
They just keep trying and trying and trying and .... I guess when all you have is a rusty hammer, every issue becomes a nail.
they were around when MLK was. I don’t think he denounced them. In fact, I think he worked with them.
Perhaps the NAACP would be better served by addressing their own RACIST elements.
The NAALCP continues its morph into little more than a race baiting, grievance mongering, irrelevant organization.
I would make an “adjustment” to your examination in the final paragraph.
I don’t think the 0bama supporting blacks had any intention of their “economic plight” being improved through a “better economy”.
They just “wanna get PAID”. Improving your economic plight in an improved economy requires work.
The so-called "liberals" are anything but liberal. They are a desperate and morally bankrupt group without a shred of decency or conscious.
Thanks for the clarification!
Ah well, maybe the good Doctor was trying to turn them around. They’ve certainly done violence to his professed principles.
Let them. This would have worked had The Boy-Queen not tripped over that Axelrod-planted question at a presser last July regarding the white cop investigating a complaint at a black home.
Without his handlers giving him express direction and feeding him all the minutiae on his teleprompter, The Boy-Queen falls flat on his rump.
Please, scream racism loud and louder. It just serves to point up the utter bankruptcy of this entire administration and its followers.
...”The NAACP should be abolished.”
....it would be out of business now if it weren’t for the shakedown money it pulls in from large corporations.
