LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Metro police on Monday identified the three officers who shot and killed an armed man outside a Costco store in Summerlin.

They are Officer William Mosher, 38, a five-year veteran of the department, Officer Joshua Stark, 28, who has been with the department since September 2008, and Officer Thomas Mendiola, 23, who joined the department in March 2009.

What was the race of the Costco clerk? Age? Likely brainwashed, in her youth, into thinking anyone with a gun is evil.

...he should have made the “sudden movement” of dropping to the ground.

How about “citizens”? ? ? ?

How about “your employer”?

How about “the ones who slave away to pay your salary, pension, and health care benes”?

How about “our customers”?

How about “any of those would sound stupid in a conversation?”

I have no idea, this was clearly an abuse of power.

Our Costco would not let one inside with a backpack.

— What else would they refer to you as? —

Morons, idiots, criminals.

I like “civilian” a lot better than your suggestions.

“Cops are civilians too.”

Not according to their training, their uniform, their badge or the rules that they are SUPPOSED to operate under.

He was considering buying the backpack. It was merchandise in the store. He was seeing if the bottles would fit in or how many fit.

I can see myself doing this and want to live.

Again - cops are not military, they are not rock stars, they are not overlords, they are not masters, they are not wardens of a jail.

Cops are supposed to serve the public who pays their salaries, benes, pensions, etc., nothing more, nothing less.

Why would I allow a murder suspect to kill me? TO make people like you feel better about your local cop? Screw that crap.

“Our Costco would not let one inside with a backpack.”

He was probably purchasing it from Costco!

don’t know. I don’t think footage gets released unless someone leaks it, at least not at first.

If the footage cleared the cops, it would have been "leaked" already.

If it doesn't, it is very likely that it will be "lost".

Then whose job is it to enforce the law?

-- It is *FAR* better to apply the Death penalty for this murder than to "lock them up for life." --

I don't think this shooting merits the death penalty.

I agree with your synopsis of "felon" vs. "ex-felon."

I know one cop who has destroyed many security tapes after beating people into a pulp. The guy brags about it.

And because its in a bad area of the City, the typical recepients of these beatdowns have no real recourse.

But you have to agree that cops do refer to the public as "morons, idiots and criminals." It's only fair, after all, that's how some in the public refer to the police!

Enforcing what laws? Traffic laws? Or writing reports after the fact and then generating 4 hours of OT in the process?

It’s funny, but this is one area in which we can agree with the New Black Panters.

“But you have to agree that cops do refer to the public as “morons, idiots and criminals.”

I don’t “have to agree” to that. I personally know a few of my local LEO’s and I’ve never heard them refer to normal, law-abiding civilians in that way.

“It’s only fair, after all, that’s how some in the public refer to the police!”

Well frankly some cops have earned it.
