LAS VEGAS -- Las Vegas Metro police on Monday identified the three officers who shot and killed an armed man outside a Costco store in Summerlin.

They are Officer William Mosher, 38, a five-year veteran of the department, Officer Joshua Stark, 28, who has been with the department since September 2008, and Officer Thomas Mendiola, 23, who joined the department in March 2009.

“Many eye witness accounts are unreliable”

And yet all of the police seem to have the exact same story.

Silly to blame Costco in this instance. There seems to be no info on if there even was anyone destroying merchandise and if this part was made up by an employee then no amount of training would have prevented it because the employee is a head case.

Perhaps a better screening process but even that is not perfect.

I lay all the responsibility on the police in this instance since it appears all the eye witnesses seem to agree there was no weapon in the hand of the deceased and the police had no reason whatever to even draw their weapons much less discharge them in a lot crowded with shoppers.

“Are you suggesting that the cops might have tried to all stick to the same lie.”

Yes I am saying they murdered this guy and are working to cover it up.

“So far, we only have a clerk’s word”

Well, somewhere I read another witness account who said the man was behaving normally in the store. Seems possible that the store employee who reported the destructive behavior may have just been trying to get the CCW guy in trouble after noticing he was carrying. That would be typical Lib style! The vids should tell the story, and if he was acting normally, the employee should be charged as an accomplice to murder! We’ll just have to wait and see/

I have a feeling Costco will admit the employee acted counter to the stores policies, the employee overly reacted and did not make an appropriate description of events to the 911 operator which led to the actions of the LEO’s.

One person cried fire in a theater or in this case yelled GUN!

All the more reason to conceal, and conceal properly, I used to live in LV, and during the summer its almost impossible to conceal unless you are wearing something inside an AC building such as a sports coat, during the summer its too easy to see an imprinted weapon.

I base how I conceal upon the weather condition, fortunately for me I live in a cool if not arctic climate.

This is Erik’s father:

About Erik:

“His father was in the Air Force, and his grandfather fought in World War II, friend Mike Pusateri said.

“The most loyal, honest, trustworthy, salt-of-the-earth guy you could meet,” said Pusateri, 38. “You only meet one or two of those kinds of guys in your life, and Erik is one of them.”

“I just thought of the girlfriend. She must be a basket case right now.”

Yeah, I hope it wasn’t her idea to go to Costco.

I’d be willing to bet a buck that
“destruction of merchandise” = opening a box to check the contents.

I demand compensation of no less than $25,000,000 to the family of the man killed, and I hope for more.

Only if it comes from those who are directly responsible - the employee who shouted "wolf" and the cops who pulled the triggers.

Also, the cops should be charged and convicted and serve maximum terms for MURDER, as they shot someone that presented no threat to them. Unjustified homicide.

If this account is accurate, these officers are guilty of murder in the first degree, and should be subjected to the death penalty. There is no mitigating circumstance in this account. His death seems premeditated, although there is no evidence of it, their conduct indicates it.

Exact same story = collaboration. No good lawyer would not pursue this angle.

There are cameras everywhere.

These better, for the sake of civil unrest, be released for public viewing.

Otherwise, they’re conspiring to cover up a murder.

Try shooting someone in the street for keying your car. Two set of rules even here in Nevada.

If there were video evidence supporting the Cops version of this story, it would have been made public immediately. The only reason it has not been shown in my opinion is to cover up the cold blooded murder of a private citizen by 3 thugs.

Too many police shouldn’t be allowed to carry deadly weapons. It’s a conundrum. You can’t be too smart and be a cop - you’d get too bored. So, you need basically stupid people, but then you allow them to open carry and terrorize the rest of the population.

Scott was crouched down with a backpack in front of him in a sporting goods aisle, the witness said. Scott had taken a large package of sport drink bottles off the shelf and placed it on the floor in front of him. He had torn open the package to get at the contents and was placing the bottles in and out of the backpack.

"It was like he was trying it out," the man said. "I think possibly he was trying to see if it would fit in his backpack."

I have seen the cops getting more and more out of control. Its a product of the brainwashing that has been going on for the last 50-100 years in schools. Instead of teaching independence and a disdain for authority that early Americans cherished, we are giving our liberties away legally and putting up with over zealous cops. A lot of them are coming back from hot zones overseas after serving, and forget this is not a war zone.

While i respect law and authority, i am becoming ever increasingly disturbed by behavior of LEOs all over this country. Most of them don’t give a flying-flip about Constitutional rights. The majority are well intentioned, but a badge doesn’t give you the right to do what ever you want. I’m not sure this applies in this case, but from the reports i’ve read, there was nothing warranting killing this man.
