“Juvenile reply.
Here let me try.
I know you, what am I?

You spelling is atrocious- his name is Jesus.”

Really? Are you serious? Ok, let’s take a look at what you wrote. Shouldn’t there be a comma after here? “I know you, what am I?”. Shouldn’t that read “I know you are, what am I”?. Then, to top things off, you write “You spelling is atrocious- his name is Jesus.” Didn’t you mean, “Your spelling is atrocious, His name is Jesus.” I must applaud your use of the hyphen. Very creative. You also neglect to capitalize His. I won’t even go into the irony of your post. It would obviously be way out of your pay grade.
Let me put this in a way you would understand. “Your an idiot-stop righting posts that make you’re self look stupider then your really is”.

Chris, the funder of terrorism said

“If they were raising money now I’d be giving it still today. I was child then but still remember the stories of British brutality in the Catholic neighborhoods. You should know a little more history than the talking points you keep repeating because it makes you look silly.”

Omagh, 1998

“Dorothy Boyle witnessed the immediate aftermath.

There were limbs lying about that had been blown off people. Everyone was running round, trying to help people. There was a girl in a wheelchair screaming for help, who was in a bad way. There were people with cuts on their heads, bleeding. One young boy had half of his leg completely blown off. He didn’t cry or anything. He was just in a complete state of shock.”

You paid for this Chris. You helped them pay for the Libyan Semtex that was used in this bomb. Does it feel good Chris, knowing you paid for this ?

The "paras" slaughtered civilians going to aid other wounded civilians. That's a fact, you're "facts" are not supported by the report at all.

Is shooting civilians tending to their wounded an act of terrorism?

I have no “misty eyed love of the brave freedom fighters.” I do, however, love the truth and that is apparently shared in common by everyone in this thread.

I think more stupid sounds better than stupider, don’t you?
but back to the charge. The Roman Catholic Irish is a
bunch of Limerick jihadist. They blew up and terrorized
a population because they didn’t like their interpretation
of the Bible. Boy, that is real Christianity!
70% of Ireland terrorized 30% of the population because
they were Protestant. Repeat “blowing up women and children
on a public bus sounds very familiar doesn’t it?”
RC’s need to get an army go fight and kick the interlopers
out. But they won’t, it is easier (safer) to to plant
dynamite under a bus or a taxi. Come to think of it
I can’t think of a brave and robust and developed Roman
Catholic dominated country can you?

there is definite evidence that IRA gunmen were in the Bogside Flats, and that they fired the first shot. The evidence, and this is important, comes from residents in that area, inc the local priest. These people are NOT pro-British, they were Catholic and sympathetic to Irish Nationalism/Republicanism. Yet they clearly state the first shot came from behind, which can only mean the IRA, as the Paras were well in front of the Bogside (the Paras famously had to ‘go into’ the Bogside).

In 1997, on its 25th anniversary programme on that fateful day, the major British TV channel Channel 4 investigated the day fully. And found evidence to support the IRA first theory AND it found photographic evidence, long forgotten, taken by newspaper photographers just prior to the march, of IRA men armed and in and around the flats on the Bogside.
And CH4, btw, as any British person will tell yu, is a left wing TV channel, hardly a staunch defender of everything British.

There is also voluminous evidence since, post ceasefire, from ex-IRA men themselves that the IRA were there and fired first.

Remember this Saville Report has just said Martin McGuinness, Head of the Derry IRA Brigade, carried a submachine gun around that day but didnt fire it. Not even when the Paras were killing 13 people. Does that sound credible?.

IMO the Saville Report has fitted the facts to a predetermined conclusion.

Again, I will not defend the overreaction of the Paras that day, but they did not go into Derry that day with the intent to kill civilians.

The Catholics rioting and blowing up protestants is an example of one group of people being mean and sinful to another group of people. OTOH, when protestants riot and blow up catholics the reverse is true :)

No one society or culture has a monopoly on either vice or virtue.

It started well before that, although you wont get “vlad the impaler” to ever admit to it. Irish raiding of mainland Britain was a major nuisance from Roman times right up to the Norman Conquest.

But that’s what they are arguing about. The majority in NI dont want to be part of the republic. What do you expect the British to do? Just simply abandon them? If (as seems likely) latinos become the majority in the South western States of the USA in the next 20-30 years, and they press for “AZTLAN”, will the US government simply abandon all those who want to be Americans in those States?

You don’t want to hear about what your communities funding of the terrorists paid for. Why is that Chris ? Is it uncomfortable ?

A local shop owner describes the scene on Market Street.

It was horrible, so much blood and flesh, and glass sticking out of people. I saw a group of four kids and I heard them speaking a foreign language, Spanish, and I thought, in the confusion, they needed more help than anyone else. Two of them were very badly injured, with glass in their heads, bellies, arms and necks. Blood was dripping from them. ...One of the girls was very badly hurt, bleeding from her ears and mouth. She was absolutely covered with glass and kept crying that she wanted to die, and all of them were half deaf from the blast. My wife and I brought them back to the shop, where we grabbed bowls of water and washed the blood off their bodies. We realised we couldn’t pull out all the glass, so we took them to the hospital.

These particular children were Spanish, and probably Catholic. I’m glad you were told in your family stories about the not targeting children and the 30 minute warnings. That must have been a big help when your community passed over the money.

I’d say that the protestant community in NI has at the very least done their part to make sure that NI remains divided and prone to outbursts of self distructive violence. These marches are a case in point. Marching through Republican areas is a deliberate provocation.

Sure, its just like Clinton smoking a joint but not in inhaling. I’m sure that’s the truth as well.

What happened in the 16th and 17th Century is also largely irrelevent to the current situation. Nobody alive today is responsible for the wrongs committed even 100 years ago, never mind four centuries ago.

The fact is that Ulster now holds a considerable number of people who do not consider themselves to be Irish, do not want to be part of a United Ireland, and are prepared if neccesary to use force to prevent there being part of the Republic. So what do we do about them?

Vlad is right on this one. Muslim terrorists are the very worst of the breed. The IRA never deliberately targeted civilians, and they (mostly) left warnings, although as the “troubles” escalated and tensions got higher the amount of time allowed declined.

Incorrect. What happened then made today.

“Nobody alive today is responsible for the wrongs committed even 100 years ago, never mind four centuries ago.”

Yet the wrongs committed then are still played out today.

“The fact is that Ulster now holds a considerable number of people who do not consider themselves to be Irish, do not want to be part of a United Ireland, and are prepared if neccesary to use force to prevent there being part of the Republic. So what do we do about them?”

We should use the same rule as the British occupiers did: we listen to the majority. The majority will soon be made up of those who want to be part of Ireland. It may very well be inevitable. Thus, if the Brits thought their occupation of Northern Ireland was a just act because a majority wanted to maintain the union and continue to oppress Catholics, logically that would mean Northern Ireland must go into Irish hands when the new majority says they do not want union.

A survey in 1999 showed that 72% of Northern Irish Protestants considered themselves “British” and 2% “Irish”, with 68% of Northern Irish Catholics considering themselves “Irish” and 9% “British”.[22] The survey also revealed that 78% of Protestants and 48% of all respondents felt “Strongly British”, while 77% of Catholics and 35% of all respondents felt “Strongly Irish”. 51% of Protestants and 33% of all respondents felt “Not at all Irish”, while 62% of Catholics and 28% of all respondents felt “Not at all British”. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_and_politics_of_Northern_Ireland

Birth control among Protestants may ultimately allow the land to go back to Ireland.
