CASE STUDY: Why the Chicago Young Republicans’ sexual assault scandal and its cover-up by . . . .

Over the last few days, a wholly preventable scandal has metastasized for the GOP in Illinois that could very well cost Republicans the Governor’s mansion and “president” Obama’s former Senate seat: both were winnable races, if Republicans had learned from mistakes of the past and gotten in front of a potential problem before it was allowed to yet again reveal the GOP in Illinois to be a myopic boys’ club that protects its own while covering-up anything that could potentially upset their cucumber-and-mayonnaise soggy sandwich cocktail parties. “Romney Republicans” have gotten conservatives into an untenable position yet again.

The senate seat was already lost to republicans in Illinois. A liberal democrat was going to be elected no matter who got the most votes, the one with the “D” behind his name or the one with an “R” behind his name.

I drove through Chicago last month on my way home from a trip...

No amount of money would make me want to stop there- it LOOKED like a ghetto

This is clearly an attack on Repubs. This young woman filed her complaint with WHO. Did she claim she was raped?
Or was this “prophet” just a run of the mill cad?

The blog is clearly a hit piece from a Hillary smarmy follower.
Funny since Hillary’s hubbie Bubba is a serial masher.

FTA:

Roupas had scheduled a new meeting to be held on June 29 2010 (ironically, unbeknownst to Roupas, EXACTLY, to the day, one year from the day the young woman first sought help in writing the complaint against “The Prophet”…when she attended the Chicago Young Republicans $25,000 “Membership Drive” party at the Cubby Bear in Wrigleyville and encountered several other young women at the event with similar stories to hers…convincing her to write the complaint when she saw “The Prophet” working the crowd goosing young women and plying them, too, with alcohol in attempts to get them to come upstairs to the “VIP Lounge” he had created for himself), which was also the last day in that “I’ll get back to you in a few weeks” period he had set to “get back with” Gerson about any investigation he was launching into “The Prophet”.

That's got to be the longest run-on sentence I've ever encountered. Who wrote this? Is there any truth in here?

Land of Lincoln is, has been, seems to stay in trouble. I wonder if the Hawaiian will spare them. That Olympics thing did not go so well

All the people with access to this woman’s complaint, including reporters who have no interest in defending the Republican Party in Illinois and people who have axes to grind, and no one is willing to identify the guy? Color me sceptical.

It is very much an attack on Republicans (the rino Rommey et al wing) and a well deserved one if you read through the article

from the article in the second paragraph so not that far into it
“the complaint filed by the young woman with the Chicago GOP and Young Republican National organization alleges”

Both Roupas and “The Prophet” are “Romney Guys”, a special brand of Republican we’ve identified and described for you on this site repeatedly. Here in Chicago, all of these guys seem to have been part of the Mitt Romney 2008 campaign, before Romney bowed out to John McCain. They’ve never stopped running Romney for president, and have taken over organizations like the CYRs to build them into Romney 2012 ground teams.

Romney? Kirk? Not a dimes worth of difference in these ultra liberals.

It’s from a Hillary Blog what do you expect. A bunch of gossip, nothing else.

The media ignored Al Gore’s rape case for 4 years.

The media buried the news of John Edwards’ bastard child.

But the media ran wild with rumors of John McCain’s “affair” with a lobbyist.

Mark Halperin (of Time, formerly of ABCDisney news) defended this.

I can’t give a &#@@.

Was it “rape rape”?

“the complaint filed by the young woman with the Chicago GOP and Young Republican National organization alleges”

Why did she not go to the POLICE.

Afraid they would laugh her out of the building?

Ummm, am I the only person who found that blog post unintelligible and borderline insane?

It’s one long rant written by a crazy person.

I’m still confused as to why a girl would “file a complaint” to a private club about RAPE.

The Hillbuzz blog — which has gained a wide readership since the 2008 elections — is written by a group of gay men in Chicago who were, indeed, big Hillary supporters.

They’re still very angry at the Obama campaign for dirty tricks that they claim denied Hillary the nomination.

As a result, they defected from the Democratic Party and worked actively for the GOP in 2008 and are now pushing Palin for 2012, saying that the Democratic Party they once supported is no more. They’ve said that, even should Hillary run in 2012, they won’t support her.

They are well-connected in Chicago politics, both GOP and Dems. They’ve been dropping hints about this scandal for a while now, just today posting details.

Take it seriously.

I think they’re right that it best get aired now so the dust can settle before November.

I often disagree with the Hillbuzz take on things, but find them always well-informed.
