Hey asshat....did the nest (where's marine whatshisname anyhow?...and dogz?) get a memo today to come preen about racism on the forum?

btw....smokin joe has a hell of a lot more credibility and LEGITIMACY to bitch about white on black racism should he choose than you and your little band of idjits like stormer can ever hope for in your bigoted zeal.

By your standards we can simply start by purging evryone who ever acted “racist or racialist” as a white man towards any minority from the founders and onwards

which means there won't be jack left but you silly poseurs giving it up for Sharia law and the rest of us will be relegated to some forgotten dustbin

i hope you enjoy it

crackers like you numbnuts are what gave us Obama...thanks u weakminded doofuss

I wish you the best of luck in your ongoing struggle to master the English language.

The people of the state of Texas are free to decide whether or not they want to honor an individual whose two claims to fame are being a lifelong Klansman and a lifelong academic.

Those are their tax dollars.

Simkins should definitely be remembered as a cautionary tale - filth like him are, sadly, an important part of American history - but the people of Texas are under no obligation to remember him with a fancy public building.

Time to take the name of Robert Byrd, Klansman and KKK recruiter, off of all of those civic properties in West Virginia.

You're saying that we should maintain the honor given to a likely murderer ... just to defend history, doncha know.

No. Go back and re-read what I said. The first part was a general comment about the destruction of our history. History is history. warts and all. This Southerner may be stripped of his honors justifiably, but there is no denying the systematic removal of those who are judged by changing criteria of what is considered honorable (and again, I'm not defending this guy in particular).

Toward the end of your comment you showed signs of getting what I meant. Sometimes the conferring of 'honor' says more about those doing the honoring in the long run than the one who was 'honored'. (Take the recent crop of Nobel Prize winners, for example.)

Hey asshat....

Amazingly, you could have stopped typing right there. I'm not going to read whatever pile of crap you dropped on your shoes after that.

And then you implied -- not subtly -- that removing this guy's name from the dorm was just the first step in that process.

Everything will be named after anything non white.

Well, except for the sports teams.

And then you implied — not subtly — that removing this guy’s name from the dorm was just the first step in that process.”

That’s exactly what was mentioned in the article - a first step. Actually, it’s not the first step. PC has infected every major Academic Institution in the South (and the rest of the country as well). So it’s just the first step in a continued campaign to erase any type of Southern Heritage from the “hallowed” halls of academia. Like I said in a previous post. Simkins is not the real target here. It’s the Confederate Statues, monuments, and names commemerating the Confederacy they’re after. IOW, Southern Heritage.
Of course, I’m sure you agree with that as well though.
Where in the Hell are you from anyway? I figure you for a PC Yankee. If so, mind your own friggin’ business (then you won’t be mindin’ ours).

Everything will be named after anything non white.

Most of the time it's the same names.

So King County Washington, named after slaveowning (and possibly homosexual) Vice-President William Rufus DeVane King, was "renamed" after Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King.

Google "Simkins" and you get not just William Stewart Simkins, Florida Klan leader and Professor of Law at UT who was said to have fired the first shot in the American Civil War (on the Confederate side, naturally -- busy fellow), but also Modjeska Monteith Simkins, "an important leader of African American public health reform, social reform and the civil rights movement in South Carolina."

Dig a little deeper and you find Reconstruction state legislator Paris Simkins, the son of Charlotte Simkins, a slave, and her owner Arthur Augustus Simkins, a newspaper publisher and scion of the local planter aristocracy. And you'll find a story about them if you dig hard enough.

Arthur Augustus Simkins was a Democrat and perhaps a relative of Eldred and William. John Augustus Simkins was one of the first Blacks appointed to West Point, and a Republican committeeman. Francis Butler Simkins was president of the Southern Historical Association.

Slaveowners and slaves tended to have the same names, and so do their descendents. There's a slew of Simkins, of all colors and characters, all across the South to name a dormitory after.

You and your nest pollute this forum day after day with the same race baiting drivel attacking anything you deem racist for your taste.

Anyone care to peruse other topics your ilk here occasionally comment about will see quickly that you are more often on the wrong side of any culture war battle .

We won't take it forever...so enjoy it while you can.

This is about a helluva lot more than southern stuff or Columbus and the Injuns....we're just the most convenient targets....for now.

I have 5 kids...all in some form of education...and as a parent I deal with the damage your ilk has contributed to our entire American heritage and values system day in and day out and I despise you and your kind for that. You fixate on self serving white versus any minority bigotry and conveniently ignore your own and are oblivious to the cultural degradation around us no one dare confront.

You don't merit a place on this forum in my opinion. Your mindset has crippled this nation's ability to deal with Islam, homosexual marriage, and illegal immigration just for starters.

It may well destroy us...not the phantom racism of dead white men taken out of context. Unlike what you lament, what you laud is a clear and present danger to the Republic.

Re your #52. Excellent post and right on the money! It’s part of the overall culture war which the Left has declared on the Country. “Those people” are sickening and disgusting!

Go ahead and defend the Klansman. It's a great way to feed the stereotype.

And then you implied -- not subtly -- that removing this guy's name from the dorm was just the first step in that process.

Now, here is what I said, with pertinent words emphasized to assist your comprehension.

If the man was honored by having a campus building named after him, either it was for something beneficial and non-nefarious, or the entire institution should be held to account for having so honored him.

You could say I implied the Campus should be dissolved, too, but implications are in the mind of the beholder.

Where does the "process" lead? The removal of statues of generals, the banishment of a battle flag, the wholesale villification of a culture--good and bad, for what? Renaming streets after 'latter day heroes' who come closer to harm's way by their diet or a jealous husband than peril of shot or shell?

While I am neither defending this individual's history, nor his honor, I must point out the incremental villification of those who have stood in the ranks of our history (which has, in the mind of grade schoolers taken George Washington from 'the father of our country' to another slaveowning 'cracker', decrying a man who refused to be King--to the shock of some of the European aristocracy--and painting him as evil).

It is that incrementalism which I decry, which paints a subtly different picture of those in our past with each successive generation, distorted by the lens of contemporary thought, and I caution against capriciously ripping down the nameplates of the past.

It is our darkest hours by which we measure progress. Eliminate the record of them and all after becomes moot.

If at one time the University saw fit to honor a man we would revile today, does not this stand as a clear indicator of the progress made since?

Either way, though, to sanitize the past to protect the feelings of those who recall nothing of it does great disservice to us all, if for no other reason than obscuring the measure of progress made since then.

I just went to check back on his usual historical crap just for the hell of it..

saw the exchange with he had with you in April where he thinks maybe Tea Party is infiltrated with some bad guys like the Left claims

folks like him demonize groups and symbols themselves and then lecture that the very thing they themselves disparaged is now sullied and should be distanced from

a very problem they helped create

now why is this freeper and others like him on this forum?

someone help me grasp how they help our side?

OMG! That post is AWESOME...in all caps!

People who have that mindset are, knowingly or unknowingly, commmitting national suicide!

We have a history...some of it is not nice...but all of it is our history. However, to try to rewrite it is despicable.

There are some who are trying to rewrite the founders, too.

As I said...despicable...and with an agenda.

Even on this forum...

I rather doubt that lynching was legal, even by the standards of his day....

Fucking black boys have evened THAT score a few thousand times over the last 50 years...

How many white people do blacks get to kill or rape before we can let the approximately 1500 (possibly) innocent blacks "lynched" between 1882-1968 rest in peace?

Whom do we get to demonize for the 1300 whites "lynched" during the same time frame?

Well, it is certainly refreshing to read all the vitriol, anger, and hatred on this thread, as it makes an interesting break from all the civilized and polite discourse elsewhere on this site.

I hope that at the end of the day, we can agree to disagree, and of course we are all in unison that the South has suffered mightily under the evil and oppresive boot of the northern heathens, and that someday we will throw off our shackles and breathe the sweet air of liberty as free men and women once again. I think we are all on the same page with that, correct?

Or maybe I'm just being a poop disturber.
