I’d have to go back a year or so and look, but I believe near the end of the summer fighting back was in vogue.
Actually several months ago I came across a little website that provided statistics regarding an ongoing urban war in France. In other words, cars are torched, police are confronted, areas of France can no longer be entered by police without massive numbers of riot clad officers etc. The blogist said that there is a permanent media blackout so by the time we hear about it, it really must be bad in that we must assume some burning of cars or bottle rockets thrown at police as regular ‘background noise.’

It is now a war of conquest by the Muslims. The French are now faced with only two options: submit or fight.
No offense intended but why do posters insist on butchering articles by removing sections and putting “snip” or “snippet”? If you want people to read the article then post paragraphs and end a sentence mid way so people will click on the link (if it’s interesting). It seems so manipulative on the part of the poster I don’t even want to investigate any further.
If there’s a legitimate reason for this practice please tell me. Maybe I’m overlooking something but as it is, posters are ‘butchering’ written material in order to manipulate the reader
Easy, obvious, and effective solution: shoot rioters on sight, cover them with bacon, and bury them.
Alternative: let them get away with it and lose your country.
Perhaps if the cops had beheaded the man there’d be no riots.

Wow! Grenoble is one of my stopping points in France. My wife and I visited last December while I was there on business. The trams were the model for the ones recently built in Phoenix and they are identical.
Grenoble is a university city with lots of students. It is surrounded by mountains, but it is at a fairly low altitude which keeps the climate nice.

I have used this snip technique when an article starts to say something, goes into blah blah blah blah, and then goes back to finishing the first idea. When I read snipped articles, I actually like it because somebody has called attention to the ‘good parts’.

About 5 years back they were reporting about 50 cars torched every night for the whole country. Even 10 years ago there were neighborhoods “off limits” to the police.
Our company had an American in Paris who, as a favor, would write us travel guidelines. He told us that one of the major subway stations should be avoided after dark. It was such a large station that we didn’t pay attention to him. While we were there the police came strolling through with a contingent of 7 officers and 2 police dogs. They usually don’t travel in such large numbers.
After that, we payed closer attention!
France has become a complete shambles. More dysfunctional than ever before.

That would fix the problem by eliminating current rioters and deterring future rioters.
The French have let it get to the point where the police must use that much force to take back the country from the radical islamists.
This effective tactic will not be used of course and more of the same will be perpetrated by the islamists.

That is one reason. Also, some publications only allow us to post a synopsis, and want readers to go to their own websites. You can see this in the rules of posting. Those are the two main reasons, and we have to use this method.

As it is, far too many of our “leaders” ignore the constitution, or they want it destroyed.

Yes I understand the reasoning and the rules. It’s not necessary to butcher an article in order to be in compliance with the rules. I’m just particular that way; if there is an article that is seemingly of interest, I would prefer to decide for myself whether or not it’s worth my time to click on the link and not ‘have’ to just to see what the second paragraph (or sentence) says because someone decided to remove it and put ‘SNIP’.
Me too. But if the good parts are buried in too much unrelated drivel, I sometimes I don’t read far enough and would otherwise miss something of interest to me. I also like it when bloggers post a large official document and bold key text. That way I can figure out why they posted it. If I am wondering ‘where is this going’ and skip down to a snip or bold section sometimes it helps me avoid leftie text dressed up as reasonable text or decide that the author started out with something good and got off track. Ultimately, after reading the entire text, I will decide what the good parts are for myself -but I like the snip or bold preview.

Irony of ironies: France just may fight. We all know Britain has already surrendered. Hence, the irony.
