I have no idea about this either. IMHO the Tea Party is a close knit group of independent voters with like goals. There is no main organization per say.

You’d think they would state in their ultimatum what Mark Williams did wrong, for the sake of casual watchers.

Well, a house divided against itself cannot stand. This is just what we need 108 days before the Mid-Term Elections. What in the world did this Mark Williams dude do?

My opinion, a lot of people better careful in hitching their wagon to the “tea party”. A lot of them are RuPaulistas and I imagine provocateurs who will do something around election time.

This is exactly what you and I were talking about a few months back.

Why so many in the movement chose to join ANY of these groups is beyond me. They must all be sheep and NEED to have a leader and feel like they BELONG.

Sad.

I don't like it from the little I know about the incident. It looks like a successful tactic to divide Tea Party People, or at least make it look like the people who attend Tea Parties and the Tea Party express stops are not united in a common goal.

I've been to both types of events and both have mostly the same people there.

The left will feed off this.

None. I have no idea who the “National Tea Party Federation” are or why they believe they’re in a position to issue ultimatums to anyone - but then I suppose anyone is free to come up with an officious name for themselves and say anything they like.

I had to Google this. All this fuss is over his "colored people" remark? Olbermann/Jealous alert. I haven't read the article or watched the video, will do when I can, so I'll refrain from further comment. It just seems like much tado about nothing. "On last night’s Countdown, host Keith Olbermann devoted his “Tea Time” segment to a stupefying response by Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams to the NAACP’s resolution condemning “racist elements” within the Tea Party movement. In the form of a letter to Abraham Lincoln, from NAACP President Ben Jealous, Williams took the NAACP’s historical retention of the term “colored people” in their name, and ran with it. Olbermann called on all Tea Party leaders to immediately repudiate Williams." http://www.mediaite.com/tv/tea-party-express-leaders-colored-people-letter-to-lincoln-draws-fire/

Most defnitely someone else will express what i’m going to try to—
the tea party will now be divided along the lines of “divide and conquer”
and by demanding Williams leaves, they acknowledge as truth that the tea party has racists—

as i’m not at all familiar—googled Mark Williams racist....and got the impression that he replied to the n doubleA cp’s charges of racism the same way others have, including Breitbart, who states he has video as well proving this naacp is the racist bunch.

Taxed Enough Already.

If you think we're being taxed to death and disagree with it enough to protest, you're a TEA party 'member'. At least that was the original idea IIRC... The organization into groups with names that feud with each other is destructive.

Is this the Judean Peoples Front, or the Peoples Front of Judea moment?

Let us not cast stones at one another. They will gladly do that for us.

Does anybody else roll their eyes when they see “tea party” capitalized, as if it’s a real, trademarked organization with “leaders”, etc.? I swear the rats are hard at work through their newsrooms (and with a lot of help from clownish political wannabes and libertarian malcontents) to turn the effective tea party protests of 2009 into “The Tea Party”, until it becomes the same kind of marginal laughingstock the “Move On” campaign evolved into ten years ago.

“Tea partiers” are individuals from across the nation who briefly “organized” a few times in order to shout as one at a corrupt and disgraceful government agenda of communist health care and the drunken waste of tax dollars. The “tea partiers” are still out there and they will vote because they are inspired to do so, but I doubt 95% of them give a rat’s behind about being called “tea partiers”. I know I sure don’t.

This effort by some people to turn the “tea partiers” (aren’t we all “tea partiers” here?) into a real live, ongoing “organization” with a convention and “leaders” and all the rest of the bells and whistles is stupid. It’s old already - - time to put the phrase “tea partiers” to rest. The battle has been joined and “tea partiers” will continue to shout (and vote!) for a return to sanity, and they need no label to do so.

I have no idea what the impact of this is.

One problem is that the Tea Party Express is the entity that has and is backing Sharron Angle for Nevada Senator Reid's seat. I believe another Tea Party group was backing one of her primary opponents so there may be some bad blood there. In any event we don't need division and a fight over power and personalities just a few short months from the election.

So the Tea Party has now become a PC caricature.

The “National Tea Party Federation” just started 3 months ago and they’re already having Stalinist purges.
