During a tearful and passionate speech at his "American Revival" meeting in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Fox News host Glenn Beck revealed that he may be going blind.
During his speech (video below), Beck told the audience, "I can't focus my eyes."
Taking a shot at health care reform, Beck said, "I went to the best doctor I could find, while I could still go to the best doctor I can find."
Beck, 46, says he has been diagnosed with macular dystrophy, and joked that the doctor told him, "You could go blind in the next year . . . or you might not."

There’s a far fry from eyesight going to going completely blind.
Lots of old people lose some eyesight.
Beck is in his 40s, and we are not talking about losing some, but going blind.
HUGE difference.
Too bad. I hoped he was going mute.
I’ve worn glasses since I was 7 (nearsighted and astimatism) and can’t wear contacts, so glasses are no big deal. HOWEVER...I’m at the age where my near vision is starting to go bonkers. I have to take my glasses *off* to read and my optometrist is saying the “B” word. I do not want bifocals, Sam-I-Am. Insult to injury! I’ll go as long as I can before I have to wear the darn things.
yeah I thought the same thing, very biblical sort of-—like a dark force has beset these purveyors of truth or something....
In the meantime somebody like Bill Clinton can lie under oath and exploit a 21 yr old staffer for his orgasmic pleasure in the sanctified OVAL OFFICE representing and guiding a nation that thousands died to protect—and come out smelling like a rose with adoring lemmings exalting him to the heights.
He should be living in a cave out of sight for the shame he brought on the Oval Office.
Seems we truly are in a cosmic battle of dark and light.
There you go again - lumping people into groups they don’t deserve.
I know LOTS of people who have reached a ripe old age without needing more than reading glasses. And I’ve also known people who were blind from birth.
Old age is NOT a guarantee of going blind. Why don’t you do some research before you open your yap and produce a blanket statement?
Hold on, I heading out the door to see my eye doctor about this ‘blindness’ issue...since I am at the same age as Beck....be right back. =.=
Depending, of course, on which way you are going...
It was neither, I was just saying what he was talking about on his show.
You may remember that Wiener or Waxman was going after his main sponsor, Goldline. Glenn was talking about how it would really get some people’s goat if he had his fake eyes designed to read GoldLine.
So it was him who was having some fun with it.
I’ve been “losing my eyesight” since I was seven, but I’m not blind, yet, and don’t plan to be. And I’m a tad older than you.
“Blindness is very rare now a days.”
In a pig’s eye!!!!

He says that happens a lot.
SInce I can still see chocolate, I’m headed in that direction!
“Big, powerful prayers going out for Glenn. He’s done more for this country than any politician in decades. He is truly a blessing.”
AMEN! May GOD always protect and bless Glenn.
Wise choice.
Homer talked some pretty good poetry after he went blind, and I predict that if he does go blind, Glenn Beck will still talk excellent common sense.
Many years ago, Rush Limbaugh was in danger of going totally deaf, now this...
What did they do to deserve these...
Prayers up for Glenn Beck and family.
Bifocals are no bigee. I’ve worn them since my mid 40’s, 20 years. My tops are plain-o and only the bottoms magnify. Putting on and removing reading glasses was just too big a bother.
Prayer’s for Glenn Beck!
