Chechen Terrorists Break Into Russian Power Station, Kill Guards, And Knock Out Power For Two Months

Chechen terrorists launched their first attack on an economic target. It was a brutal success, which has authorities worried they may strike again.
If you're wondering how this affects America, check the subtext of Medvedev's recent visit to Washington: America listed the Chechen leader as a terrorist and Russia removed a ban on US poultry imports. In other words, we've cast our lots in this escalating crisis.
And Lindsey Vonn is headed to the area in two years for the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Here's a shocking account of the attack from Moscow Times:
The unidentified attackers entered the station at about 4:20 a.m., shooting the two guards to death, the station's owner, state-controlled RusHydro, said in a statement.
The attackers then captured and tortured two employees to find out the location of the generators, which are the core of the station, a RusHydro official told Gazeta.ru. The station has an alarm button, but the employees failed to react quickly enough to activate it, the report said.
The attackers struck one employee with the butts of their guns and slashed the other with a knife, but left them both alive, the official said. No other people were present at the station.
Moving on to the room housing the station's three generators, the assailants planted five bombs, four of which went off at about 5:25 a.m., RusHydro said. The fifth bomb was defused later by the Federal Security Service.

FYI
Chechans = Muslims?
Clancy isn't just an author - he's a seer!
The Chechens are Muslim separatists and exemplify what happens to an area once a majority of the people there have been converted to Islam. It would be as if the entire state of Virginia suddenly went “Muzzie”, declared it a Muslim state, and starting using terrorist tactics to gain independence.
The result would be what you’re seeing now in Chechnya.
We were actually sympathetic to the Checehens before 9/11, as we were with the Bosnians, who are also Muslim. (The Serbs were fighting to keep their country from being overrun by Islam and the Bosnian Serbs were like the Chechens: Muslims wanting to partition Serbia into a separate Muslim state.)
I can only hope those days of appeasement are over.
Wherever Islam goes, it spreads war, misery and death.
Fine then knock out all their infrastructure also including Hospitals.
We just had a Bosnian Islamic center open up in SW Boise - in an old Christian church building (at Lake Hazel and Cloverdale, in case any Boise-area Freepers were wondering). The strange architectural features we saw during the "remodel" were the first clue (minaret-shaped cutouts in the front porch cover).
o not worry the Russians know how to handle these problems. Last time a who village ceased to exist when they were chasing Beshlov who they killed.
Ummmhhh.... The giant, school-bus sized, "spinning" things that put out about 180 decibles? You mean those generators? Nope, we don't have any of those things at this plant....
Really, how hard is it to find the generators at a Hydroelectric plant?
“Fine then knock out all their infrastructure also including Hospitals.
o not worry the Russians know how to handle these problems. Last time a who village ceased to exist when they were chasing Beshlov who they killed.”
That is the exact mentality we need on our southern border.
Depends on whether or not your entire education consisted of "This is a Kalashnikov / This is not a Kalashnikov."
I actually made an error in my original post: it wasn’t the Bosnian Serbs who were the Muslims. It was the Bosnians in Kosovo and Serbia that wanted an independent state. The Serbs in Bosnia and Serbia were the ones fighting to keep their country from being partitioned into a separatist Islamist state.
We were on the wrong side in that one. We should have supported the Serbs in both Serbia and Bosnia.
Russia is going to retaliate by sending more muslim troops to Christian Georgia to exterminate thousands of Orthodox Christians.
The Christian Croats of Bosnia didn’t want to be part a Serb state. It’s right to say that we shouldn’t have gotten involved. It’s wrong to say we should have supported the Serbs.
“The Christian Croats of Bosnia didnt want to be part a Serb state.”
As I recall the conflict (and I’m writing this from a very dim memory of events, so I may be wrong), it was the Bosnians who were trying to force the Serbs off land that had been held by Serbians for centuries. Serbia got involved to protect the Bosnian Serbs from Bosnian Islamist hegemony: basically, a Bosnian Islamist grab for Serbian land that would have expanded the territory of the Muslim Bosnians.
A similar grab for land was made by Germany (under Hitler) for the German-speaking territories in Czechoslovakia called the Sudetenland.
And just like the Nazis, the Muslim Bosnians were trying to expand their territory at the cost of Christian Serbians.
At least, that’s how I recall the beginnings of the Balkan War. I do remember some heated discussions on the subject here on FR during the years it was going on. The biggest concern was that the Clinton administration joined the cause of the Bosnians as a way to appease the Jihadists who were beginning to threaten us.
We can see how well that strategy of appeasement worked.
And now because of that Christian Croats are part of Muslim state.
BRAVO!
I read on RFE/RL the suspected mastermind was the warlord Asker Juppayev, who is an ethnic Balkar. Balkars (Turkic people) are the minority in Kabardino-Balkaria, and they don’t particularly like the majority Kabardins (Caucasians, like Chechens; and I mean people from the Caucasus not white “Caucasians”). The Balkars have always wanted secession from Russia whereas the Kabardins are more Russified.
“Isolated incident”
