WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is taking his family back to Martha's Vineyard, Mass., for summer vacation next month.
The White House announced the vacation plans on Friday, one day after disclosing that the Obamas would overnight somewhere along Florida's oil-threatened Gulf Coast on the weekend of Aug. 14.

Every time Bush headed for Waco or Camp David the press was full of sneering insinuations about how lazy Bush was — even though the Bush ranch at Waco was hardly luxurious and even though Bush spent a lot of his time there doing the hardscrabble chores every ranch always needs done.
Hell, I used to think the Clinton was a total party animal president, with all his overseas trips and his abbreviated working hours that always left time for relaxing and fun, but even Clinton managed to actually get work done — I disagreed with what he was doing, but at least he WAS working.
Obama? He doesn’t want to govern or manage the nation. He simply wants to rule by decree.

He did the same last Ramadan... Martha's Vineyard then Camp David. Muslims do not work during Ramadan.

If they really needed to “get away”, there’s always Camp David. I’m sure they could do all the hiking and biking there they wanted. But, of course, there wouldn’t be the photo ops. It would suit the rest of us just fine for a vacation spot, wouldn’t it? Tho’ I’m sure there aren’t any ice cream shops there - doggone it!
Hey - that’s an idea. Rent Camp David out for vacation spots and raise money at the same time. Except raising money isn’t exactly their desire unless it goes to them or their cronies - certainly wouldn’t be for the country!
After this one, only two more Augusts to suffer through!

So the Gulf Coast is a stop for a photo op prior to the real another vacation at Martha’s Vinyard.
