That's crazy! Do you mean to tell me that Reagan knew Phyllis Schlafly and that Sarah Palin was McCain's running mate?

Sources, please!

OK so you state I judge by appearance. We all do to more or lesser degree...She came across to me as being fake and the forever smile on her face no matter what she said caused me to tune her out...I know she has many who greatly respect her...I just am not one of them. We all have different opinions of others...

I didn't become a fan of Reagan until he fired the air traffic controllers....he had backbone and not many republicans in congress can say that..What he had to say about anyone would not necessarily make me change my mind.

But he did perform almost a miracle in turning around the Carter economy....He was witty and could laugh at himself and didn't bad mouth in public anyone that I can think of...An admirable President..

As far as judging superficially, we all do that also...You see a raggy, unshaven and dirty man sleeping in the alley are you judging him a bum superficially? (or do you figure he might be the CEO of a corporation).. Or on his appearance...The way a woman dresses caused men to judge her based on her appearance...very superficially judging. Maybe your one that has never done that, if so I applaud you...A difference of opinion is what makes a horse race..

When I look at that bum in the street, my thoughts are invariably “He too, is a child of God” and “there but for the grace of God go I.” And I might add that I’ve heard some real pearls of wisdom from such individuals.

How I interact with those unfortunate souls is between the Almighty and me.

Thanks pissant!

I remember years ago (during the Reagan years) Schlafly was on CNN (I think it was) debating about some current flap, and through persistence, logic, and persuasion, got her jackass opponent -- sent out from the (so-called, and horribly misnamed) People for the American Way (founded by Norman Lear) -- to admit he was wrong, and she graciously ended with, "we're making progress."
