Oliver Stone found himself the catalyst of an online brush fire on Monday after he made comments published in The Sunday Times of London that were interpreted as anti-Semitic. In an interview with The Times to promote his documentary “South of the Border,” which is about South American politics, Mr. Stone defended Hitler. “Hitler was a Frankenstein, but there was also a Dr. Frankenstein,” he said. “German industrialists, the Americans and the British. He had a lot of support. Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people.”
Mr. Stone then proceeded to discuss what he called “the Jewish domination of the media,” adding with an expletive that Israel had messed up “United States foreign policy for years.” Bloggers quickly picked up on the comments, and the American Jewish Committee issued a news release condemning him. “By invoking this grotesque, toxic stereotype, Oliver Stone has outed himself as an anti-Semite,” the committee’s executive director, David Harris, said in the release. Mr. Stone, whose next Hollywood movie, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” will be released by 20th Century Fox on Sept. 24, has stirred controversy with his comments in this arena before.
In January the director told a gathering of television critics that “Hitler is an easy scapegoat” while discussing his Showtime nonfiction mini-series, “Secret History of America.” At that time the Simon Wiesenthal Center harshly rebuked him for the remarks.

Oliver, don't tell me the Jews forced Stalin to cozy up to Hitler? The Russians nurtured the scorpion, they don't have a lot to complain about.
By the way, how many Russian soldiers were killed by the Wehrmacht and how many were killed by their own country? The latter number was not insignificant.

When I see his support for Chavez, why wouldn’t he support Hitler? In many ways Chavez is closer to Hitler than any other dictator alive today.
The shutdown of the media, the propaganda, the cult of personality, the national socialism of businesses - very similar.
Maybe that was the point of what Stone was trying to say, but he has done too many drugs to get that across.
He purports himself being a man of history but shows a shocking lack of knowledge about why the Holocaust was uniquely Jewish.
When he talks of the +30 million Russians killed by Hitler, he's grumbling as to why the Holocaust with its 6 million Jews killed gets all of history's credit, attention, sympathy, when the Russians with its +30 million dead don't get nearly as much press. By lamenting about it he shows his emphatic ignorance of history, yet at the same time claiming history having given Mr. Hitler a raw deal.

For the indoor scenes, filmed in Berlin-Babelsberg in 1942, Riefenstahl used as extras at least 66 Roma and Sinti inmates, virtually all males, from the Berlin-Marzahn camp for Gypsies .Allegations that the German Criminal Police returned the Roma, after fulfilling their “obligation,” to the Maxglan and Marzahn Gypsy camps (Zigeunerlager) and later deported them to their deaths at Auschwitz, were serious enough to involve Riefenstahl in a civil suit. That suit was dropped in 2002 only after her production company retracted a public statement Riefenstahl had made in which she claimed that all of the extras had survived the war. Tiefland premiered in 1954, eight years after French authorities occupying the Tyrol arrested Riefenstahl and confiscated her film materials, in January 1946.

So, Hitler killed more Russians than he did Jews, and that is somehow a mitigating factor?

Oliver Stone is just one face in the huge collage of “Democrats who bitterly hate”.
Importantly, Democrats are very aware that they are filled with this terrible, burning hatred and desire to hurt others, coupled with deep, neurotic feelings of inferiority and victimization.
To see Democrats writhe and anguish, remind them of this fact. Then top it all off by telling them that they will never get rid of their pain by hurting others, only by changing themselves.
They will be so angry at that point, all they will be able to say are obscene curses directed at you. The truth hurts.
Isn't he producing a documentary on chavez right now? I guessing that one will be titled "The Hugable Hugo"...
